Okay. So I decided to make an actual review this time. In the last one I only said that the game's freaking good - which is true, but probably wouldn't convince anyone to actually play it. So yup, making a new one.

So, why is Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair so good? If you've played the first one, you already know what the game is like. Investigation. Friendship. Murder. Yup, pretty much all that repeats in DR2. And yet, this one is even better than the first. The characters are so unique here. Your (Hajime's) interactions with them and their interactions with each other are so meaningful, and everything is just so real. When one of them dies, you kind of feel like a part of you have died too. You really are able to form a bond with all of them.

IIIIf amazing & unique characters aren't enough for you, well, I must also say that the cases are REALLY interesting and full of amazing plot twists in DR2. Even when you think you know what's going on, even when you think you know everything that is going to happen, BOOOOM PLOTWIST! Sometimes, the character you love the most will be the killer - Sometimes they will be the victim. That's just how it is here.

I need to mention that the soundtrack is aaaaamaaaaaazing as well. It can change the mood completely. The characters' voice fit their personalities perfectly, too. There are some memorable laughs ( Komaeda <3 Mikan <3 ) and speeches that are sure to stay in your head.

Damn, this game is awesome. It's worth every penny. Tbh I kind of want to erase my memories of it so I can play it again and again and again and again and get surprised over and over and over again.

Anyway. If you read until this point and this review convinced you, I wish you a nice trip! It's gonna be totally worth it, I swear. Puhuhuhu.

And goddammit, no idea if I can come up with a top 3, haha. The first one I ever fell in love with was Asahina, but holy shit how I love Junko. Sakura is lovely too. I believe it would be something like Junko, Asahina and Sakura. BUT BUT BUT, I also really love Makoto (obviously) and Touko. And I grew to love Byakuya too. So yup. Yeah, that wasn't so hard actually. I'd tell you my favorite characters from DR2 as well, but I don't want to biase any part of your experience, so yeah. Chihiro, Ishimaru and Mondo were my babies too. TO BE HONEST, I think the only characters I don't reaaally like that much from DR1 are Hifumi, Celeste, Hiro and Leon. And I still like them a little bit, so... Anyway, waiting for your comments on DR2! Have fun! Pupupu~

YASSS! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. School mode is always helpful. *cries*
I find DR2 trials way harder than DR1's. Well, it's still easy to put things together as the discussions go on and forth, but the cases, in general, are way harder. The motives, everything. There are no others like the first case in DR1 (that was pretty obvious) or any stuff like that. Chapter 1 trial is already surprising as heck, and 3-5-6 are just mind blowing (all in their own way). Like, seriously. The whole plot is WHIAFDWR8UFODI. Damn, this game is so good. I'm jealous of you. I wish I could wipe it from my memory to play it again. But V3 is coming soon, so I'll just chill.

Gonna buy it in the next few minutes.
I guess i can get over Chihiro soon. School mode helped me alot with its in-depth character endings.

With a new cast of characters there's new hope. And i'll enjoy rocking the class trials once again.

But i think this game needs to be way harder, though. I only found this game by reading "Ace Attorney" in the reviews and decided to give more action packed trials a shot. It definately exceeded my expectations, but i was surprised how easy the DR trials were compared to a phoenix wright trial. The concept and style is way better, sadly the difficulty was too easy and predictable, even with multiple truth bullets.

Which were your top 3 favorite characters from DR1 if i may ask?
Mine were Chihiro, Hina and Kyoko

Once i'm done with DR2 i'll let you know what i thought of it. pupupupupu

Please, do yourself a favor and buy it! Of course, there's the suffering when your favorite characters die, but their deaths are never meaningless. Chihiro was so important, they would never be able to leave Hope's Peak if Chihiro hasn't been there to create alter-ego and all that. It's really a great game, and how much you suffer when characters die just prove how good it is :sayaka_DGR:
So yeah, I would say: Please, buy it. Wait for a promo if you want to save some money and buy it. The unfairness is part of the game, and proves how real it is. DR2 is likely to make you suffer for other characters, but is also guaranteed to make you love it and ask for more. And seriously atrjhugj I can't really say more and no idea how to convince you, but it's really good. :Ibuki_DGR: I hope you play it. And if you do, please tell me your thoughts on it afterwards! :makoto_DGR:

I finished DR1 just a few days ago and loved it / hated it. I grew attached to one character the moment he introduced himself and thought he'd make it out alive 100%.
Sadly, being a cross-dressing and innocent cinnamon roll doesn't account to ensured survival. He got taken from me right at the start of the game and i can't stop crying over him.
I want to buy DR2, i really do. But it will probably make me miss him even more...

Thank you, I'll definitely check it out :sayaka_DGR:

We're in 100% agreement there. But if you wanna see a final chapter with a dozen twists done really well, you should look into Ghost Trick, an incredibly underrated mystery VN puzzler by the creator of Ace Attorney. Probably my favorite VN.

Hmmm, I felt the ending was a bit too fast too, like, lots of plot twists and too many info together. But I still loved it. But well, all in all, both games were amazing to me and I can't wait for V3.

Yeah, looks like we're totally opposite on that. But in DR2 most of the characters barely ever got any character development. And objectively, as a group, they were pretty much strangers. Towards the end in DR1, you knew exactly where each character stood in relation to each other. In the second game, there wasn't any of that. I only really liked Chihiro and Fuyuhiko. DR1 was really predictable with its mysteries and twists, but they were still satisfying.

DR2 just totally flew off the wall at the end and just totally flopped for me. It felt like it was just trying to shock the player as opposed to presenting any developments with substance. And when it did, it didn't take any time to properly explain it or let it sink in.

At least chapter 5 was good.

I guess I should change "So much better" for "Even better", though.
