This game has been some of the most fun I have ever had with a rhythm game. It would be an easy recommendation if not for the current state of the dlc. I was lucky enough to get into the game before just as planned was retired, about 2-3 years.

For context, Peropero had a dlc for their game, "Just as Planned +" which promised there would be no need to pay for future updates, an absolute steal. This dlc and its promise was made before Muse Dash blew up considerably, and my guess for why they decided to try and go back on it, is because it just isn't sustainable. Muse Dash is cheap, and Just as Planned + was still a good price for getting literally every new song pack for free even with the price increases. I actually was okay with this change, it felt fair. Not many in the community felt the same, and I don't blame them. PeroPero attempted to compromise with several announcements, which just made people angrier. Paired with some other controversies in the past, and you have a company that has broken the trust it's built with its community in its attempts to create a more sustainable model.

I'm not defending PeroPero here, either, there was other ways to go about making more money without obliterating the trust of their fans.

As it stands now, Just as Planned + users will continue getting all content packs for free, while newer players get a much worse deal. If you chose to buy this game now, you would have to pay more than the people that got here before the 5th anniversary. As much as I love this game, I cannot genuinely recommend it to a new player unless they're willing to put up with the fact they have to spend more than veterans just to unlock the same content.

That aside, the game itself is incredibly fun. It's a 2k rhythm game with waifus, and some really fun charts among its many content packs. Some of their content packs are super unique and interesting too, and the game has a lot of charm to offer.
