The amazing part about having two different active versions of the game is I have to do double the achievements.

A very simple, short game, but decently made for an indie developer, it's nothing super high quality, but it's functional and that's what matters for a game - fun and functional. It's nice if you want a short game that takes less than an hour. The writing is barely there and isn't deep, but there are no plot holes, so there's a silver lining.

It took me several playthroughs of learning mechanics before I was finally able to beat it for the first time. I will say that the addition of the Adrenaline mechanic made the game more difficult to complete, but it does make it so you have to learn how to manage your resources to get to the end of the game. An effective use of resource management.

I will say that the RNG in combat is a bit frustrating and can cause you to not be able to complete the game if you run out of Adrenaline, and there are no items to restore Adrenaline, so it does end up frustrating when you have to start over just so you can beat the game. Other than that, it's a simple but enjoyable game, if you're used to permadeath games. It is doable.

There are some typos in the English version, "File" is typoed to "Flie" in the save menu. The Bandage item description is still in Chinese when you first pick it up. There were one or two other typos I noticed but I don't recall which or where.

Skipping zombies is a bit difficult and the only thing I would complain about otherwise is that zombies don't wander off in a guaranteed way to make skipping the skippable zombies take less time.

The ending isn't that great and is underwhelming and just leads to a stat screen but outside of that, if you go in with no expectations, as a lover of pixel art and the zombie genre, it's an okay game. It's also extremely cheap (<2$) by the time I'm writing this.

Otherwise, short but good game. Not the most complex but I enjoyed it for what is there. I would love to see the game more fleshed out. A burglar class that can pickpocket keys from zombies would be cool. The graphics are nice, the writing is so-so but decent, managing resources is mildly challenging, and the music does add to the creepiness of the game. The UI also scales well on a 4k UHD screen.

It's cheap and since it's pixel art it works on low requirement devices. It also has click to move functionality. It's not a relaxing game but it is fun, so I'd say it's worth a buy.

I received the remaster for free and I've owned this game since 2013, and have just beaten it for the first time in 13 years. Good game.

I think the price is fair considering it seems like a new developer made it and it's short for a game. It takes 1, 2 hours, tops.

It's very simple for a game, and doesn't have much for replayability, but for a 1 time experience, its simple and nothing fancy, but its okay for a single playthrough. Personally I like supporting indie developers. Its not the worst game ever, so its up to you if you want to try it or not. Just don't go expecting some deep talent system or many choice options. Its linear and a murder mystery with a few choices thrown it. That's it,

This is a flawed indie gem if ever I've seen one. I originally bought this in something like 2012 or 2013 and beat it back then the first time around, but either I didn't beat it on P.C or there were no achievements when I originally beat it.

The cutscenes are a bit lazy and the controls can be a bit frustrating and lead to deaths a fair amount, but the core story is actually solid and decently good, and the environment and puzzles are actually good, too. The story is decent enough it keeps you interested and the way the infection starts isn't half bad. I would say the background environments are where this game really shines, the areas around you really feel alive because of the zombies and details added to the background. It's actually an amazingly nice touch for an indie game.

The company, as far as I had heard, has disbanded, but this is still a solid zombie game not entirely dissimiliar to Into the Dead. This is more of an action running type of game rather than an RPG or a base building survival, but it holds up and looks decent and doesn't run too badly on lower end computers.

I would say it's worth at least one playthrough but I've played it 3 times so far and other than frustratingly dying due to less than ideal controls for specific parts of the game it's actually fun. It also takes place in Canada, of all places! Ha!

I bought this game sometime in 2013 or 2014, and I received the YOSE version for free because of having already owned the game. So A+ to the developers for that, cheers to them! I love it when a company is considerate of the fans.

The game is by far not a perfect game, but for what is there it is definitely a fun game. I have never seen any product in the zombie genre ever win the "masterpiece" or "game of the year" status, but I still personally enjoy the zombie genre. That said, the story isn't very deep, the gameplay is functional but a little clunky, the quests are a bit repetitive, and timed quests to save survivors can be a bit frustrating, but outside of all of that, what are the positives? Combat is fun, looting is fun, boarding up and protecting your base is fun, you can drive in cars and run zombies over, it's a sandbox with an open world, there is an roleplay system to build up your stats so you feel a progression of character, and when you hit max level in a trait you get to choose a specialization. You can also build your base, which is my favorite part. You can choose what to put in the slots on your base, you can choose which base to have, some better than others, and you can also make buildings that aren't your main base into outposts to protect your base from hordes. Hordes are another aspect of combat, they wander around in groups with a radial cone of sight that you can avoid and sneak around, as long as you don't make loud noises or run out in front of them.

The story does exist, even if it's not very deep. You don't really get enough character development to truly be attached to any of the characters, so the main characters you're going to encounter consistently are Lily, maybe two of the characters from the start of the game, and Lily's brother. The game is a roguelite, so your characters, all except Lily, whom you can't play, can all die permanently if you're not careful. You never get a true sense of who these characters are to feel genuinely attached to them, even when you're getting their backstories from them on sidequests, and you spend more time not talking and not hearing their views, so despite them talking about themselves you still never really know about them beyond superficial interests and maybe some backstory. There is no real bonding time, however, so even if you wanted to be attached, there just isn't much there for it, and it wouldn't work anyways, since if they die then you would just feel the pain of that loss anyways.

The overall story, not just the companion dialogue, isn't very in depth either. Without spoiling anything, let me say that the main story is loosely given and that it doesn't afford you to get attached to side characters or main story factions any more than your actual companions. It also doesn't explain the virus origins, either. To say the least, the story elements are not the strong parts of this game, and the second game didn't have any story at all for a long time.

Overall I would say there is still a lot worth checking out and the game is still worth it if you're looking for a decent quality zombie apocalypse survival game.

Build a home, level it, meet a spouse, have kids. You can run around the map doing quests and hunting to raise your home into a village. Build more houses to recruit more people to your village, and do what it takes to take care of them.

I don't normally like rogue or rogue lite games, and yet I keep buying them. This is no exception, and this game is a doozy of a game. It's not easy, that's for sure.

It's a very simple game, but if you're looking more for story choices and less action than this is for you.
