Unfortunately I would not recommend this game. This has been an incomplete and un-promised tech demo from Bohemia, and has been a major letdown for friends and I who have been playing since Operation Flashpoint days. Bugs had been fix yes but still unplayable, crash causing and too bare bones content for my friends and I to play online. The Workshop system had promises but with no major modpacks or overhauls present , it does not allow players to invest further in, to compensate for the current lack of content. The last year promises for October update has been delayed, as of typing, and it calls into question how Bohemia would even meet the goals and groundwork for Arma 4. Reforger has a lot to take on from the expectations and legacy of the previous Arma games, and It has been undelivered.

Were you there After Montignac as well?

When I first tried this game back in 2003, I felt personally struck with a complete revision on the reality of being a boot on the battlefield. Ever since then even, I cannot help but look back at the memories at I had with this game. It truely was like anything else at the time with it's features and scale of action. The music, cold war setting and the harsh difficulty beat me into a more mature player with honored patience and planning. I fondly enjoyed the game and it has made me a devoted fan of Bohemia Interactive for more than a decade now. This is the original Mil-Sim that set the standard.

9.3/10 Avoid the DLC's except for General Knoxx's Armoury

As of 2023, I still stand by that for more than a decade now, Arma 3 is still the best mil-sim sandbox. Reforger has been disappointing borked like hell so far, and arma 4 is still a road too long.

As an Operation FlashPoint to Arma series "veteran", I cannot commend how far has Bohemia Interactive has come since the early days. Arma 3 as of writing is still one of the most definitive of Mil-Sim games that you can access. Arma 3 provides much catering to Long time fans and newcomers who have never truly experienced a variable scale of combat, from Infantry ground level to Strategic Command of entire units and battalions. This is one of the few games I actively play at all, and usually don't bother with any other Shooter titles.
