A great MOBA with many ways to build items for your heroes in a match (including sub-optimal builds), but saddled with a community that at times can be toxic and unaccommodating (Examples are anger towards newbies, anger towards a player who makes a mistake, selfish players that don't cooperate, and so on). I recommend this game due to its compelling game play but with a big asterisk, in which the community needs a big improvement to keep the player base sustainable in the long term.

Update as of November 22, 2023: After playing through the New Frontiers update (and post-update) months ago and seeing the steps Valve took to improve the game at the community side by improving their report system as well, from my point of view this is a good time to give this game a honest try. And as for the community, recent news has shown that there's a need for genuine improvement if we want to build up a better reputation to get new players to join up and for the long-term sustainability of the game.

An MMORPG that stands the test of time and still keeps going to the present day. Play it if you want a nostalgia trip or want to know what made this game good even now, or both. XD

I got this game when it was being given away for free a while back and the gameplay was fun though the desync during that time was a big issue back then. Now a lot of updates later (and investing in the Ultimate Edition) the game got even more fun for me in my opinion due to multiple approaches to some heists (Pure loud, Pure Stealth, or Having a Plan B), the vast array of weapons to use, character builds (Skills and Perk Decks), and it's more fun with other players/friends that know what they're doing (Don't worry newbies, we all had to start somewhere XD). Only thing I could criticize at this time is the difficulty curve past Overkill/Mayhem difficulty (especially Death Sentence) as some would consider really cheap but playing a bit smart (using cover and NOT going Rambo all the time for instance XD) helps a little bit and having a good build helps too.

This game is a more than worthy remake of the original Half-Life and I have played this as a mod before it came to Steam as a stand-alone product. Multiplayer is a bit barren though considering the server locations are limited at the moment. With rumors up and about that the Xen chapters will be released this December, this gmae might even get even better.

A worthy sequel to CS: Source.

Years later, this is still a great game, get this game ASAP.
