I paid for this mod, not because i wanted the helmet and the mask ... but the boots!
What the f#@k is wrong with me?!

I must admit, when i first saw the game, i was mighty impressed, what Altered Orbit Studios did on the GZDoom engine. The sheer amount of details seemed like they were pushing the engine to its absolute breaking point.

However, that turned down a notch, when i had my first glimpse on enemy combatants.

There is a reason, i did not lay my fingers on games such as "Iron Fury" or "Boltgun": 30 years of graphical development should not be ignored; even by indie developers. It allways feels cheap and like a giant step backwards to have 2D sprite enemies in a 3D enviroment.
I know, i'll never see it in this game, but it would blow my mind, if A.O.S manages to implement proper 3D models for both enemies and weapons in first person mode.

Still, despite this one nagging aspect, i feel as if my purchase was a steal on my end.
Not only are the levels detailed, they're long. I took my time on the first playthrough and got about 20h out of this game already ... and that's only chapter 1!.
If chapters 2 and 3 have the same amount of content, i'd have no issue in spending some additional money.

I feel sorry for those, that have technical issues with the game. Even i can only run it on medium settings, but i've experienced almost zero bugs, glitches or technical difficulties, that hamper the gameplay experience.

So far, i'm having a blast with Darktide. It's been a while, since i've stuck 100+ hours in a game and feel no fatigue.
It also helped, that i haven't played Vermintide 1+2, gave me less expectations.

A bit too short but it's got the best f#@king soundtrack, i have ever heard since Painkiller.

It is a Doom (Eternal) clone at it's core but there's only so many times, that you can reinvent the wheel.
For what it's worth, i love it.

The enviroments, weapons, sounds and characters are all Warhammer and any fan of that setting must have this game for these reasons alone.

Helmet and shirt are complete ♥♥♥♥♥ but i do love the pants and the gloves.
2 out of 4 items; Pretty much like all the paid cosmetics in my library so still worth it in my book.

I had Rush Hour blastin' on my system non-stop for almost an hour. The whole soundtrack for this DLC was worth the purchase alone.
Not to mention the extended story piece, enviroment, puzzles .... all of it is worth every last penny and then some.

Must buy with the base game.

I'll be up-front first, before i go into details:
if you're a real fan of the series, more specificly, if you're a fan of the characters, then this is a must buy for you.

Everybody else may want to wait for a sale but if you're calling yourself a fan of Resident Evil, own it.
It may be short for some, it may have cut corners on some aspects, compared to both the original 1999 and RE 2 remake.
But after my first playthrough of about 10hours (did some parts twice, they were that good) on hardcore, i had less buyers remorse with this game than Doom 2016 ... and i paid less for that sucka'.

I realy liked the changes done to some side characters such as Brad and Tyrell; the Team behind RE3 gave them more depth.

If i have something to complain about:
- I would have enjoyed more Streets from Raccoon City
- Nicholai's character arc was predictable from the Start; wished he was a bit more shrewd like Ada Wong.

I will definitly have my fun, playing through this game a couple more times.

What the hell is going one here?

I am a grown man, predominantly playing first- and third person shooters with the occasional strategy game sprinkled in between. I prefer games with more grounded themes, based on the real world.

SO WHY IN THE WORLD DO I LOVE THIS GAME SO DAMN MUCH?!

Seriously, this piece of software sticks out in my libary like a sore thumb and yet i do not regret purchasing it.
It's the most wholesome experience i had in a long time.

Everything clicks:
- Worlds are colorful, varied and invite for exploration
- The characters are fleshed out, not the least bit boring or even annoying.
- Controls are fluid, even with mouse and keyboard; a rarity for platformers.
Too bad you can't edit button mapping but that's alright; i would have changed only the mapping for interaction.
- its far from difficult. The occational challenge may appear but never frustrates and more often than once will you see multiple paths for a solution.

Why are you still reading this?!
You don't need the review section. If you're even a half-decent person, you should've bought this game by now.
So go ahead, BUY IT!

Pretty good game and a decent addition to the Fallout Franchise but a very bad RPG.
This is a Shooter with some RPG elements.
