(Cowboy game like you have never played)

This game is one of the most detailed and carefully thought out game I have ever played. The arena design down to the shrubbery and building designs. This map has so much detail in every part of it that a 2060 Super with settings on medium would cap at 90 frames. The Audio design is the best and most intricate audio design I have ever experienced using 3D Binaural Audio exaggerating the already consuming immersion.

While playing this game you have to realise that this has never been done before. This game is most likely the first and last of its kind due to its unique look at the battle royale genre. It is so unique that its actually a stretch to call it a battle royale. The game is extremely tense when playing it at every point when having to slay bosses and not being hunted down by other players (Hunters). There are 12 people in a match randomly spawned throughout the map near the outskirts. These 12 people can be randomised through squads of 2, 3 or solos. So if you chose you can be a solo player versing squads of three. This of course is highly dangerous but if you make it back out the rewards are great. This option can be turned off in the lobby so you only verse other solos. Hunt: Showdown can be described as a high risk, high reward taken to the extreme. In the lobby there are several different options on how you want to go about your next game. You have to purchase hunters in the store to use in your match and you also have to unlock the weapons they are using. Each weapon is themed in the 1800s which is when the game appears to be placed. Going into the match you have purchased your hunter, their weapons and extras. Like med packs, stamina boosts, molotovs, traps, knifes and much much more. This of course all costed Hunt Dollars the primary currency of the game. Hunt dollars can be earned just playing the game and doing certain things like slaying zombies and killing other hunters.
---BOSSES---
Bosses, there are 2 of them on every map. 12 Hunters each go around the map collecting clues using dark site which is a free ability everyone has to learn the location of the bosses (Just like hunting). However when you find the bosses I quickly learned that is a rookie mistake to shoot them
Due to Hunt's precise accuracy of 3D Binaural Audio you want to be using your guns sparingly as they are only good against other hunters and are extremely loud. Guns can be heard from the other side of the map revealing your location to everyone
Hunt showdowns mercy to new player would have to be 0 to none. The tutorials in the game encourage all the wrong things. If you are a solo player despite what the community says never play solo. Always randomly matchmake as you will get high level people to show you around the map and where to enter and exit certain buildings and compounds. Oh yeah as I was talking about guns and hunters. You can level up your hunters by getting xp by killing zombies, slaying bosses and extracting. Extracting in the game is like saving your character. There are extraction points all around the outside of the map but if you die before you make it to one. Your hunter dies and you lose all the progress on that character and all the equipment on them. However this is not an issue as Hunt always offers you a free hunter with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gear already on them so you can grind Hunt dollars to buy better stuff.
---Audio Ques---
Audio in this game is by far the best and most accurate audio design I have ever heard
In this game if you can learn to control your sound and movement without being heard. It doesn't matter how bad your aim is or what weapons you have. You will become invisible. Sound however has multiple ques like the snapping of twigs in the forest. Gunshots, Crows the squak like your gonna eat them and fly into the sky so other hunters know where you are. Dogs stuck in their cages barking at you. Chickens going absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the pen. And enemys being alerted by your presence. A experienced hunter will be able to understand what kind of enemy it is. What attack it is going to do and how to avoid the enemy all by sound
There are broken cans and glasses inside buildings so you know someone else is with you when you hear a crunch behind you.
In the end this game has a brutal steep learning curve but once mastered this I promise you will be one of the best games you will ever play. I know this review is more of a summary mixed with a review. But I felt like I had to explain what the game was because of how much it has flown under the radar. It isn't a small game with a big company behind it yet I'm suprised by how little people have heard it.

In conclusion every design choice in this game has been perfectly decided down to environment design. To weapon design about how they feel old and clunky because the guns are old and clunky. To the absolutely amazing audio. And the immerse tense feeling every game.

I confidently give this game a 10/10
