I'm losing the war,
But I've come to find I don't have the energy to win the war,
And I've begun to ask myself,
Why must there always be war?

Infantry gameplay: Wait 30s. Spawn. Instantly die to artillery. Wait 30s. Spawn. Instantly die to someone who's camping the OP/garrison. Wait 30s. Spawn. Instantly die to artillery. Wait 30s. Spawn at the furthest most garrison. Instantly shot in the head by someone camping the garrison.

Tanks: Join a tank crew. Drive 20m, die. Respawn. Drive 20m. Get stuck in a ditch. Die. You live for the times you finally get in a good position and farm infantry but struggling against the game and instant dying the other dozen times just isn't worth it.

And still no pacific theater

Honestly not worth your money. I regret giving them my money for 30% of a game and 100% of developers and the suits ignoring the requests made of them by the player base. Game feels like a chore to play.

Pretty fun if you're into the mad max franchise, enemies and bosses can be repetitive. I would love to see more mad max games.

There's a lot to write about and I hope I can cover it all. Do not waste your money on this game. Especially if you are a North American player. The game is increasingly trending towards pay to win and losing a lot of dedicated players. I expect the game to shut down within a few years.

To begin my actual review, I am a player who has played with the American nation on the PVP server for the past year. Myself, like many other players new to the game, was initially overwhelmed by UI, port menu designs, and ship handling which is my first con. To learn how to navigate the UI, menu's, and properly handle your ship, the game basically forces you to join a clan and participate in a discord or teamspeak. Forced joining clans and communitites is my second negative thing to say about the game. As you could imagine, this was a very toxic environment.

There are multiple clans, each with a different amount of ports controlled where they can collect taxes off of commodities traded and build ships and such. The multiple clans giving rise to petty rivialries and constant squabbling. The clans act more like a barbarian confederation when working together than an actual nation, no productive decisions can be made every decision is always second guessed. In my opinion the clan system as a whole was a mistake for this game.

After joining a clan, the teamspeak, and completing the optional tutorials you can start out as a master commandant (master and commander) where you are able to command a 5th rate frigate and thus the grind begins. I'm honestly a person who enjoys a good grind and I for the most part enjoyed the grind in naval action. Fighting larger class AI ships with smaller class ships can be riveting and PVP can be intense, however I'm going to list the PVP as a con.

It is the opinion of this gamer that the PVP in this game is only for an elite few, instead of the masses who attempt this game. Most players who jump through all the previously listed hurdles and graduate to being competent enough to try PVP fail spectacularly, due to their mistakes, but mostly due to the skill and build of their enemy. The elite few PVP'ers who still roam this game spend hours out of their days patrolling areas where they know their will be players with their ships that are the top tier in all fields constantly praying on those who do not have the skill or resources that the elite have.

My main point I'm failing to express about PVP is this: It is going to be almost impossible for any new player to attempt PVP and find a fair fight or even a fight where they stand a chance. Most are going to lose to some player who has been playing the game for years on end and has all the best stuff.

My next negative thing to say about the game is this: It is becoming increasingly pay to win and is trending towards almost an exit scam. To start, some things that aren't pay to win, just stupid cash grabs. You want to join a different nation because your friend is in it or you're not satisfied with that nation? $20 DLC.

Now lets get to the pay to win aspects. When I started playing back in december of 2019, the largest rate DLC ship you could buy was a 4th rate. (ships go 7th to 1st rates, 7th being small sloops and cutters, 1st's being multi decked ships of the line). So the 4th rate is a sizeable ship, good for doing some missions or pvp, either way that's a $40 dollar DLC for a ship that can be redeemed once per day with any build of wood (anything ranging from a build for a strong, sturdy ship or a light, fast one).

Soon, along comes the DLC 3rd rate, the Redoutable, $50 dollars for a very strong ship that can be redeemed once per day. If you do not see why this is a problem let me explain it better, the amount of time, effort and resources that goes into building a ship for a player without any DLC is astronomical and has its own set of hurdles for jumping through. So a player or clan jumps through all those hurdles and now they're losing their top quality ships to enemy DLC ships that can be redeemed daily. Starting to be a problem.

Now with a dwindling player base the DLC 1st rate HMS victory is introduced, $60. At this point this is looking like a trend to cash grab before the inevitable shut down of the game because of insufficient player base. I'm sure the game will go on sale again soon, DO NOT BUY IT, DO NOT BUY THE DLC'S, it is not worth the toxicity, the devs do not deserve your money. Again I am speaking as a player who played on the PVP server with the American nation, PVE server expierences will vary as will expierences with different nations. Thank you
