PSN Account requirements have been undone. Sony listened to the community, and as such I am giving this a thumbs up - the game is wonderfully fun and well-made. Here's to another round of good times!

It has its flaws, and it has its quirks. This is a Bethesda game, through and through - and through it all, it can still shine. Give it time, and it will grow on you. They're taking feedback and the latest news shows they're listening.

Is Bethesda perfect? No. Neither are their games. And it's a little unfair that the game is being compared to Baldur's Gate 3, which is a wholly different beast entirely - there are gripes I have with this game that developers or mods can fix.

The truth is that Bethesda is, at the least, supportive of its community content. They will always be engaged with us in ensuring we can make this game whatever we want it to be, just as they have with Skyrim and all their games before. Todd and his team are not wizards - they don't make the best games, or the most stable, or the best technology in them, but what they do create is excellent platforms for us to do with as we please.

Starfield is all of this and more - it is a story for us to explore; there is SO much to do in this game, so many places to go and explore and adventure. It's the game you make it - and the mods will make it so much more.

So, avoid going into this game expecting a perfectly crafted experience. Don't expect everything to work flawlessly. This is not a 10/10 game; it's an 8/10 or 7/10 game: solid expertise, decent graphics, not too many bugs, and plenty to do.

But this will be a game the community is engaged in improving and growing over the years. Mods for Skyrim are still being actively developed, even today, and now we have a newer game with newer code and newer systems in place, and I am so excited for what may come next.

Make this game your own. Play it your way, and have fun. But always remember - it's a Bethesda RPG, not 'Baldur's Gate In Space' - that's not fair to either game.

12 years later, and I'm still able to enjoy this game.

The age-old saying of 'Mods Make It Better' still applies.

Still better than FO76.

I've played a lot of this game. I loved it, too...until they decided that their moneygrubbing was more important than my enjoyment of the game, and they killed off any and all mods with Cease and Desist letters. This game is no longer entertaining, the Grind for Online is absolutely, unequivocally insane, requiring hours and hours and hours to get even modest sums of cash, while everything you need for it is insanely expensive. And when they deliberately kill the offline replayability by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ over OpenIV and killing mods, the game is no longer worth my time. I wish I could get a refund. Take Two should be ashamed of itself, and Rockstar should apologize for this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

After trying, over and over, to get into this game, all I can say is its one big disappointment. As much as I'm sure the story and later levels are fantastic, I simply cannot get into this game because of the combat. Having played a whole lot of Black Flag, trying to learn the combat system for this game is a measure in frustration, incredulity, and stupidity. Sometimes you can counter. Often you can't. There's no indicator for when your attempt to counter is going to work or not, and I cannot get the combat system to respond in any manner of consistent way.

Sometimes you can break a hold, sometimes you can't. It seems to be entirely random whether or not your attempts to attack, counter, block, or dodge are going to work, resulting in even a modest number of guards able to whittle your health down significantly.

I understand that the focus should be on NOT engaging in combat, but often the game forces you into it, and punishes you for doing so. I so very much want to like this game. I really, really, really want to like it. But the combat system is total trash.
