good stuff
Thank goodness. I've enjoyed the silly release dates over the years, but this is a much-needed change for clarity and for localization.
good update  this will prevent devs from using stupid and unprofessional release dates which we've seen from time to time.
Makes sense. +1
If I may give some feedback from a developer perspective:

I think these changes are very good. But I'd love to see you go much further with improving the way release dates are shown in general, also for games that already are released!

The main thing I'd like to see improved is that, for games that are still in active development (most importantly "Early Access" games), the one most important date that should be shown at the top, below the review info, should not be the date when the game was first put on Steam. Instead it should show the date when the game got the last major update. Because that is what actually matters to players.

Players should be able to see from this date if a game is a "2018 game" or a "2022 game". An Early Access game that was first put on Steam in 2018 but got constant updates since then is not really a "2018 game" at the moment, it's really a "2022 game", because the state of the game from 2018 likely has nothing to do any more with what the game is in 2022. Seeing the old date where a game was originally put on Steam, ignoring years of further development, gives people an incorrect impression and makes it way more work for players to figure out if a game really is an "old" game, or if its just a game that was put on Steam a long time ago but got so many updates that it's still a very new game.
Finally! That's gonna be very helpful. Sorting wishlist by release date feels completely useless the way it is right now.
Good change, I've been annoyed by those who put silly custom texts instead of real dates.
RIP SOON™
Great, no more "July 2042" or "When it's ready"
Suggestion to add "When It's Done" together with "Coming Soon".
From a shoppers perspective, "TBA" (to be announced) would be more informative than "Coming Soon".
Seems like a good change. Keep it up.
