That's so true, especially when you also have a Steam-related group that you're keeping as clean as possible, all the people are eager to post these dates, and then when you ban them for disclosing this information (which is con-fi-den-tial!), they get offended. Perhaps, this sort of information should be distributed ONLY to people with actual authority/financial access rights through email and/or SW website. Too many 'fake developers' here, who are also owners of shady groups that re-sells keys and spreads rumors, who really like to leak whatever is posted here. Seriously, Valve. You ask them not to, but they are basically spitting into your face.

I have a feeling without knowing the dates, people know there's a sale coming at the end of October, in the 4th week of November and 2 weeks in December - January. Do sales dry up when people are expecting store wide sales like this?

I think Autumn and Winter sales' date shouldn't be informed for us.
The autumn date is required when Halloween-events end and the Winter date is required when autumn ends to most of developers.

This info leaked couple weaks ago. I'm even reported couple guys for this.

I think it's important that we know the dates. I have a new game I'm releasing in the next month or so, and I don't want to accidentally release it in the middle of a huge sale when nobody's going to notice it.
