ChimeraOS: https://chimeraos.org (also runs on NVIDIA)
I find it quite strange because it seems that in fact there is a SteamOS version for a regular PC, but I'm just unable to find it.
In fact the last pinned message on this channel (https://steamcommunity.com/groups/steamuniverse/discussions/1/) says "SteamOS update 2.195 released", but it doesn't specify a link to download this release!!!
And https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Arepo.steampowered.com+iso reveals those official ISOs are long gone.
I too am wanting Steam OS 3 for PC to use with my nVidia rig. It's really nice on my Steam Deck. I'd like a consistent experience between them - and no Windows.
Ooo. Maybe I should put a webpage watcher to see when their download directory changes to be notified its available.
Anyway, I consider that the SteamOS webpage is a bit confusing. Hope that they will release a SteamOS for PC soon! If you set up the webpage watcher and detect that this version is released, it would be great to know. Thanks!
Did you ever make the webpage watcher? I want to install SteamOS on my pc rig which has a 4090 in it.

i can add:
in the FAQ at this very forum ( https://steamcommunity.com/groups/steamuniverse/discussions/1/648814395741989999/ ), the link
"Q: What is SteamOS? SteamOS" goes to a Steam Store search page where SteamOS is NOT listed.
Something wrong For DIY DL i am directed to a page with DL-links for Steam Deck images even though on that page there's a warning that that specific copy is not compattible with Steam Deck.....
Wrong dl or wrong tekst?
