A big warning for all humble bundle gift link traders on barter!
I came here to warn all honest users on barter to NOT trade humble bundle gift links to other users!

My HB account was permanently deactivated because of this, i guess.
No further explanation was given from HB but a default phrase of violation of rules.

So, what i suspect is either some bad guy reseller sold my to him traded link on grey site and the user who bought it there reported this link or it was a revenge from a user on barter for something what was not fitting in his eyes.

My unredeemed games are lost, my subscription is lost, btw some months ago HB didn't allow for classic subscribers to sub month by month plan.
And the most worse i can't buy anymore new bundles!

So, whoever sold my traded link/s, shame on you!

Do NOT trade gift links to anyone, do NOT trust resellers if they tell you that they need HB links for whatever reasons, if you really need to trade with them then only keys.


P.S.: Maybe someone has experience, but is it possible to make another HB account with same Payment account method?

You can try, but I'm pretty sure they ban the payment source too over there IIRC.

As for revealing / copying keys to notepad, it's something especially important to do on HB...and I've already been doing so since a few months back when these reports began trickling in. IGN is shady af imo. Sad what it's become really.

Oh wow. We are hearing a bit of this lately. Might be time to simply do away with gift link trades altogether and just do keys

Oh yeah, most definitely. Gift links are a huge no-no now for trading (or for any reason at all tbh). They just did this big ban wave for people using 'em "too much"...whatever that even means since only they decide. Anyhow I converted all mine to keys a while back just to be safe, and then copied every single one of them locally.

New news: humble or IGN bans people on purpose of no refund possibility, that means they baned me after exactly 180 days of my sub, Paypal doesn't refund after 180 days.
So it's exactly 180 days and they baned me and yeah don't care about the customer, who wants the money back cause humble didnt fullfill the contract.

If that is not a coincidence.

I don't think this is good enough. To be on the safe side, it would be better to make key activation by the other party mandatory during the trade.

There are legitimate reasons to create a giftlink. Currently, it's the only way to check for regional restrictions. However, you don't need to ultimately create it, only attempt to do so, take a note on the restrictions, and make an informed decision. After that, you can just reveal the key and no harm done.

Gift links can't show you regional restrictions, merely the countries that get a different key (or no key). It says nothing factual about where your key works or does not.
(Also, the button to create a gift link already shows you that mostly unuseful information without you actually going through with the gift link creation.)

Of course, they can. Clicking on "Gift to friend" shows a window with this information:
REGION LOCK WARNING This will use one of your choices for the month. This key is not available in the countries listed below. If the gift recipient is located in one of these countries, they may not be able to redeem the key.
As I said before, you don't need to ultimately create it, only attempt to do so. You can cancel the link creation and no harm done.

Humble or IGN revoked ALL choice games which i bought with year sub since Feb 2020!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In my case 36 Games, and i guess all other games which i traded.

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They didn't give money back, revoked the games and wow what can i say?

I will def need to go to reddit and tell the story, if they don't give money back.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For all games i traded to all barter users:
I will try to get replacements for these games or compensate with other games as good as i can.
From my side really really sorry!

You can write here as you miss something and i will go 1 by 1 and check which games are revoked.


I don't know yet how to treat all resellers where my games also been revoked and who were most probably responsible for this disaster.
Maybe someone has ideas?

I just had NEOVERSE revoked from my account, and according to Barter.vg F4/80 traded this to me that same day, so I guess Steam notified him of his personal games being revoked and traders also notified F4/80.

That being said, this really sucks! I will upvote any reddit post I see about this.
