You're right, I also wouldn't like steam to eat a gigabyte of ram. I kinda have to conserve here since I have 8 gigabytes with another 8 in swap. And swap isn't the best for ram.

Also, the client uses 100% CPU for the 1st 5-6 seconds after it starts up. And on my PC, with 20 threads, that's also way too much for whatever the client is doing.
So now using steam and launching a mini game I just go out of RAM.
I tried the "-no-browser" option but it still launchs the webhelper... how can we do it now ? just leave steam ? (that and the fact that all the game that worked before in proton can't be launche anymore on my side because of new Vulkan version, I wonder if I can keep steam on y little linux computer :'( please let us have a "silent mini low RAM" mode !
