RPCS3 shows the Battery level pretty accurately, it has a DualSense handler built in.

what is RPCS3?
I use a Ninten switch oem charger, very fast. also i play wired when im playing fps with gyro and it charges much slower that way. I wish steam had an option to enable notifications for battery life

You can check it via playstation accessories Windows Application. Otherwise you can use DS4-windows.
For some reason steam does not show battery levels, even for it's own steam controller.

I switched to Linux and it shows in KDE taskbar's power management section for both PS4/PS5 controller, along with wireless headphones, laptop battery, etc, idk why Steam and Windows refuses to implement it, so nice to actually be able to use my controller wirelessly, on Windows I was always using cable otherwise I kept running out of battery at the most inconvenient times not being able to check the charge level.

I use KDE on my laptop and I am genuinely envious that I don't have half the features KDE has

Special K also works.

It'll popup a warning on the in-game overlay when your battery level is critical, even.

If you enable "Xbox mode" in the controller settings it also makes DS4Windows unnecessary.

Special K has exactly that, but only for Xbox and PlayStation controllers. Nintendo Switch is a more complicated Bluetooth protocol and niche, so I never finished support for it.
