Administrators/Owners Aren't Given Permissions to Modify Group Chat Pages
I'm the owner of a Steam group hoping to branch out to using the Steam group chat feature further in hopes of increasing community interaction, however while me and moderators have been testing it out, while moderators have permission to edit the chat, I (the owner and head admin of the group) can't get permissions to edit the chat room settings.

This is apparent for the general, channels and bans sections of the settings.

Finally a thread for this problem with more than a handful of answers. I bumbep seveal of these threads the last few days in hope to gain some traction for this problem.

I have created a small test group, but even the moderator doesn't have the correct role. Could be a problem that the account got promoted to moderator after joining the grup chat.

Seems to be fixed for now, I am the owner of the group chat now.

Unfortunately, "Permissions" are missing in the group options.

Hey! Yep, it's fixed now, I can create chat channels, voice channels and save them. Also it shows me as the owner of the group. The only thing that remains is that the group icon is not displayed.

Group icon is displayed correctly here. Can you change permissions for different roles? To me the "permission" option is missing completely.

Right click on one of your members in the group chat, edit role and you have three options: #ChatRoomRole_Member, #ChatRoomRole_Moderator and #ChatRoomRole_Officer.

Edit: Oh, you mean permissions settings page right? It's gone for me also in the chat options. You must enter in your group profile and change group permissions from there.

Cheers!

Group chat permissions are still broken for me, despite owning the group and having the star next to my name I only have the 'everyone' permission, and yet someone I don't even know is being labled as the owner and shows up in the options as the owner.

Are everyone of your group profile considered as officials? If this is so, can be possible that the first person in your group who started the group chat is considered the owner of the chat page?

Permissions are set normally so basic users don't have any special permissions, and they're just a basic user who idled in the group chat after I joined and left and now they have ownership status of the chat despite the fact I removed them from the group temporarily.

As I'm learning with the new chat beta, perhaps (and don't believe me much), community group and group chat are in different instances. I think if one person of your community group started a group chat when the new chat beta started it's registered as the owner of the group chat even if it's not the creator of your community group page.

I have to do more tests, although it's late and it's time to sleep. Tomorrow I'll see what I can do and test.

Good nights everyone!
