White screen error?
The first day I installed this mod, it worked fine. Now when I launch DS3, the game gets stuck on the white screen. Any help? I am using v5.0.1 of Dark Souls Unsqueezed.

Seems to be a problem with the Steam overlay, there's not much I can do about this.

I was able to reinstall Special K and the Unsqueezed mod through Special K, and it seems to be working now.

It'll probably be broken again in 6 hours unless you open the config menu and set it to never check for updates. That seems to be the current problem facing a lot of people :-\

There's a 0% chance that I will be releasing a new version any time soon, lol... so you might as well set it to disabled to be on the safe side.

Ah thanks for the heads up. For some reason, when I installed from Special K, the menu was newer even though it was the same version that I manually installed.

One more thing Kald, I tried launching the game again only to expirence the white screen. I found out a way around it by uninstalling the mod and then reinstalling it again. Now the mod is in a lower version (The one that doesn't auto update) so I am very confused. Unless you decided to make the lower version the main branch with the Special K installer.

How exactly do you edit the config to stop it from auto-updating?

There should be a setting in the menus (Ctrl + Shift + Backspace) to disable it.

There should be a " version " folder in the Dark Souls 3 game folder where this was installed to and one of the two files there has a " frequency= " parameter, set that from the current value to " never " and it should skip updates from then on. :)

The other ini holds a list of versions from Github and can be skipped.

EDIT: Or the settings menu it seems, I'm behind on all the features added to that. :)

The latest SUS is 5.0.1 right?

Yep looks like it, checked on the Github page and that's the latest available. :)

Yes, that is correct. I have never officially released 0.6.0 of this mod. You can install it manually. It's also built-in to the global injector version of Special K.

So I am assuming all I do is switch from "Main" to "Testing" and then click Migrate on SUS?

No, it's not in testing either :)

The easiest thing to do would be to take SpecialK64.dll from one of the official releases of Special K[github.com], rename it dxgi.dll and replace the DLL that comes with the officially released version of SUS.

Thank you so much.

I tried version 0.6.0 but since it didn't work properly I replaced it with 0.5.0.1.
I had the white screen problem, so I both set the frequency to "never" and replaced the dxgi.dll file with the renamed SpecialK64.dll of version 0.9 of SpecialK.

now, every time I open the game, a window appears telling me that there's a new version of SUS. how do I make it stop appearing?

edit: ok, it wasn't super clear but that slider with "show startup banner" written next to it was the amount of seconds that the banner was going to be displayed for. I've set it to 0 and now I'm good.
I restored the dxgi.dll from the 0.6.0 release of SUS because the other one sometimes crashed my game. let's see if the crashes happen with this one too. oh and let's hope the white screen problem doesn't appear after 6 hours...

edit #2: I still get crashes sometimes. they happen either as soon as the game's window appears or after the screen becomes black, shortly after the steam overlay notification appears. the odd thing is that the crash.log file only contains this:

02/25/2018 18:30:19.128: Disabling Steam Breakpad...

I guess I should give another try to the dll of version 0.9 of SpecialK because I think it crashes less often... but what should I try, otherwise?
