ReShade extension not loading shaders
Hey so I love this mod and used it in the past. I decided to pick MHW back up, but am finding trouble with the Reshade extension.
It's just not loading the available .fx files for some reason? Like it wont find the default config either nor can I get it to select the clearhunter.ini
Is there some clear instructions somewhere how to use this because I can't for the life of me figure out why all the .Fx are failing to load in.

ReShade is configured to a folder that the FX files does not reside in. Consult the ReShade config to see what folder it checks for shaders/effects in.

I have the same issue. Where in the ReShade config can see where the folder is? It's not in any of the .ini files. In the settings there's only a screenshot path.

Edit: I actually found the folder, which is in the document folder for some reason and I copied the .fx files there. Now the effects show up in the menu but they don't do anything. I try to get SMAA to work and it does with the classic ReShade mod - just not with the SpecialK custom version. Other filters don't work as well, tho, like the monocrome filter.

Edit2: Okay, I finally got it working through trial and error but it's really messy and doesn't make much sense. I had to move not just the shader files but all the custom ReShade files into the "C:\Users\"my user name"\Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\Profiles\MONSTER HUNTER WORLD" folder. This should really work out of the game folder imo.

Thanks for your comment dude, I finally figured it out after looking through the config and also going through a fair amount of google to find the info about the documents folder. I dunno if Kaiden still reads these, but it would be really useful to have a readmore included about the ReShade locations and setup. Especially if you're using custom configs.

Also, adding in a LPT: Delete the shaders you're never going to use, it'll give specialK less to load up. For example, I only use four, so I removed the rest and now SK only loads four instead of 53.

Can u still use Special K and ReShade at the same time now?

I can use the two mods respectively but not able to use them at the same time even I follow the guide step by step. It still keeps crashing when I use the "third party" function in S-K.

I'd appreciate if u can tell ur settings about these two mods.

There's no reason why they wouldn't work together. You probably have some weird third-party thing like video capture software that's causing problems.

Special-K works, ReShade configuration menu shows, but switching Shaders on/off does nothing. I reinstalled the game, installed the SK_MHW_ReShade.7z package to the game directory, copied Reshade64.dll to c:\Users\<username>\Documents\My mods\SpecialK\PlugIns\Unofficial\ReShade and again, shader switching gives 0 effect. Whats wrong?

Can you show me your shader folder structure in Documents? I can't get it to work. Switching shaders does nothing. I don't know where to put which files exactly.

Yeah, i'm having the same problem, since the recent update, but i saw some user used Crosire's ReShade '1.0.0.916' built on '2015-08-10 01:54:08' and old Special K somehow after countless updates including recent one its still can be used the FX, i wonder if its possible to find a workaround based on that.

Yeah, stopped working for me as well after the DLSS update. Maybe their method relies on its own type of DLL Injection which interferes with ReShade. Would be nice to get it working again, tho, cause DLSS in MHW looks like ass.

It might have changed the shader hash if there's a pre-applied one for the HUD in D3D11_Shaders.ini

The ReShade.ini file should look something like this with the SpecialK enhancements.

[SK_D3D11]
AlternateTrigger=0
ExplicitPreHUD_X=2560
ExplicitPreHUD_Y=1440
ExplicitPreHUD_Fmt=
IgnoreResolution=0
PreHUDResScale=1.0
SkipIfNoTrigger=0

Depending on version used, Alternate and Skip to 0 might work, res scale is part of the newer 0.10.3.1 .dll though if you use DLSS it would be upscaling and might break ReShade without having support for a scaler like this.

Pre HUD X and Y is width and height, format is also used for a few things although I tend to leave it blank and basically hope for the best but I think it can be changed in the ReShade SpecialK options menu too.

But yeah try disabling the trigger conditions that are looking for whatever the shader hash in D3D11_Shaders.ini is if the update changed around the shaders and it's going to need a new value, if that's all it should work though shaders will now affect the UI elements same as original ReShade.

Basically in layman's term what should i do to enable the shaders with specialK? i'm sorry mhw is the only game i have reshade/specialk on.

I just tried those settings but unfortunately they don't change anything for me. Just to make sure I have the monochrome filter installed as well so that I can easily spot the difference between it working or not.

Edit: ReShades FPS counter still works, tho, just FYI.
