I usually like to get requests from mappers to send me their maps so I can test. I think I give helpful and polite feedback. I find that to be very encouraging. Which is my aim when commenting.

Hey guys. I'm new here, new to being active in groups. Not sure how to go about this..any advice you will like to share with me? in terms of being in a group.
wildgoosespeeder 31. maj 2015 kl. 17:20
It's too bad that Steam groups don't have a filtering system to sort out the active vs. inactive members or even where you can force that option as the default rather than in alphabetical order or something.
LPChip 12. apr. 2015 kl. 7:09
@wildgoosespeeder: (2/2): But don't get me wrong, I don't kick people out if they are inactive for one competition. Those that kicked out haven't participated in a looooooooooooong time. And I do keep track of who is kicked out etc. Someone who joins but never participated in anything are sooner to be kicked than those who participated in a competition.
LPChip 12. apr. 2015 kl. 7:09
@wildgoosespeeder: (1/2): yes, that is a policy we enforce, and that everyone should be aware of. In previous groups, people were going inactive and remained part of the group. As such you couldn't see who was active and who wasn't. Managing a page where members can be inactive without concequences is really difficult. So if someone is not active here there's a chance they won't be in the future. I'd rather kick people out now, and invite them back later than not knowing for sure.

People who are not in our group can see everything a member can, they only cannot post. So people can still be part of the group and follow the activity and subscribe to the forums. And if they want to post, requesting an invite is a small step.

Inactive member purging? My buddy RedSilencer got kicked and I just invited him a few days ago. I also notice that Mevious isn't here anymore. I know he hasn't played Portal 2 in a while but he could have just hit burnout. Happens to all of us.

I don't know for sure if inactive member purging is a good idea or the idea of being encouraged to leave if you aren't going to participate with the group because they could have just burned out.

Our buddy p0rtalmaster has created a group all about critiquing Portal 2 test chambers on the Workshop:

Thanks for inviting me jose!
GBMusicMaster 27. okt. 2014 kl. 15:39
Thank you for inviting me in!
Polux 27. okt. 2014 kl. 14:49
Thanks cyhborg and toncica for talking about me here ;
I can't promise anything but I'll try to give my best..
Enigmatic does not often play but, with your agreement, I can talk to him about it
if he wakes up...
toncica 22. juni 2014 kl. 15:10
Polux was never in the group according to the log. Maybe ask before you invite because the group requires activity. A lot of good names have been dropped since there was no activity (voting or submitting a map) from these ex-members.
cyhborg 21. juni 2014 kl. 7:23
Was Polux ever a part of this group? I'm thinking of inviting Polux and Enigmatic . Enigmatic mostly speaks French, so I'm not sure if we would be able to communicate effectively with him (unless we can rope in Polux to translate. Enigmatic has potential. What do you guys think?
josepezdj 26. maj 2014 kl. 9:39
Hey all!
First off, I wanted to thank Cyhborg to invite me to this group! :) I'm really happy to be here.
And secondly, I hope I'll measure up! A lot of amazing puzzles have come out from these competitions and there are very good puzzlemakers in this group, so I hope I won't disappoint you! :p

I've already sketched out on paper my entry for the bi-weekly 020, and I've got a couple of cool mechanics for the 021 ;)

The only major problem I encountered before was the game crashing due to an invalid configuration that the editor allowed and then re-evaluated. It was saved like that and each time loading the in-game editor map crashed the game. Luckily I knew what element caused the crash and what property of that element was invalid so all I did was modify the *.p2c in Notepad++. Saved me all that work from having to start over!

I have had that happen too
stormsend 8. apr. 2014 kl. 0:03
Don't know where to post this question so here it is. I'm having trouble with the editor. It routinely creates a new map when all I'm doing is updating an existing map. I am not using 'save as' so that's not it. Anyway, it's done it again with my latest which is entered into Advancification. Now, should I leave the older version which is flawed or replace with the new one. This would entail deleting the map and resubnitting the new one. HELP. anyone.
toncica 20. sep. 2013 kl. 12:41
In order to have a fair contest, remember to play all maps if you're going to cast a vote.

Hey guys

wildgoosespeeder 12. sep. 2013 kl. 17:58
Why do 90% of the test chambers suck on the workshop? Even the front page ones suck!
LPChip 12. sep. 2013 kl. 13:03
Thanks Jethro. Doing my best :)
Jethro Q.Walrustitty 12. sep. 2013 kl. 12:18
Nicely done guys, I can see you've put time and effort into getting this set up. Cheers!
