im supposed to get through the entire keep unscathed just to fight a boss with no checkpoint??

Is this backtracky like Metroid games, or is it linear levels like old Castlevania? "I have to remember to go back through this enormous map to that high ledge now that I have double-jump" like Hollow Knight, or "I had fun playing that level, beat the boss, now on to the next fun level!" like Shovel Knight?...

Steam Remote Play is ... a well meaning but attempt by Valve to allow us to play games together. Native online support, in my experience, is always better. Are there any plans to add native on-line co-op, is there an (even remote) chance it could be?

or do you really need to use a controller for the best experience?
