Wow that's so greedy and messed up to say the least and if true that makes me second guess buying subnautica 2, thank you

I've heard two side of this story.. the other one is "to get the bonus, the founders" were ready to launch (to be on schedule) a "mediocre" version of the game not in line with quality from the company evaluation, so the company & the founders had a disagreement on that matter, ending by a seperation and PR fight on who is the bad guy of this story

it was supposed to launch this year as an Early Access version with limited gameplay and all that being an Early Access game entails JUST LIKE Subnautica and Below Zero. I get the distinct impression from some of the articles i have read that Krafton were pushing back against that and didn't want to launch an early access version but just launch as a more or less complete game.

The PROBLEM is that this, according to the founders who were fired, was a CHANGE to the original agreement that Unknown Worlds had with Krafton and that this would affect financial bonuses that both the founders and the entire development team would have been entitled to.

Another part of the problem is that when Krafton bought Unknown Worlds they issued a statement that they would be hands off owners and Unknown Worlds would be allowed to work independently.

it just all sounds like Krafton are being greedy arseholes whose long-term intention was always to take over direct management of Unknown Worlds. I am secretly hoping that in a strange twist of fate it turns out the IP rights to the Subnautica franchise actually belong to the FOUNDERS of Unknown Worlds and not Unknown Worlds itself because then Krafton are SCREWED.
