We have released a small hotfix patch today on PC to tend to some unruly hedgerows. Specifically, an issue with the Load Game screen.

Resolved an issue where the Load Game screen appeared empty, causing some Hobbits to fear their precious saves had been lost to the wind.

Its not FF anymore.
The game is a flop, that a fact backed by the sold copys. Yoshida was put in shame because of what he did to this game.
FF was always about group of heroes in a fantasy world, also an RPG.
This is more of an like DMC, action advanture, with a story like a cheap copy of GoT..

To be fair, FF is dying for a very long time. The last good game was FF10 (not counting the FF7 Remake)

Never heard a more trash opinion, someone can't evolve with the times ands wants the same games over and over, maybe Pokémon would be more your speed? FF 15, 16, and 14 are the best FFs

i leave 14 out, but if you call 15 a good game, i feel you like everything that is wrong with the games industry.

15 was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ storyline with hefty monetazation....to get the story somehow: you need to play the game, you need to buy all the dlcs, you need to buy a crappy movie, probably also a crappy book. While the first part of the game was ok, mostly because of the road trip simulator, the mechanics beneath were loose at best. The second part of the game is horrendous and actually so bad i never finished it in 5tries....i really wanted to like this game, but the pacing, the story presentation is awful.

Now 16 i havent played it that far.....shortly after the point where the story gets shifted 5 years ahead. But my impressions are, it is not a bad game, but not sooooo good either. The fighting system while copied from DMC actually feels old. Most ActionRPG do a better job at it, not even compared to FF itself, but look at Elden Ring, Jedi Survivor, hell even Witcher 3 or Hogwarts Legacy, they all play way better and more modern than FF XVI.

But this is not, my biggest axe to grind with the game is the actual presentation: two things that are FF for me, are emotional and engaging cutscenes and an epic soundtrack. It delivers on neither, the maincast is mid, but not overly likeable or rememberable, the voice mixing is awful (could be a corvid thing), especially cid is continously undermixed for his mumbling. Jill feels and looks a bit half assed. That this game has to compete with Rebirth, Expedition 33 and KCD 2 as they were released on pc within a year, makes things not easier to like this game....

So all in all i feel the trash opinion is more calling FF XV and XVI the best FF as they are not even able to hold their own against games of their time. Something i think tlll X or with good will maybe XII were the mainline titles all able to do.
