Closed game and tried again. Same result.

that's a lot of improvements over the original. I know they added new lords to the Definitive Edition and even improved the graphics a lot but I didn't know that they added all this other stuff to the game.

unfortunately, I don't have the Definitive Edition of Stronghold Crusader yet. I only have the older HD version so that's what I'm playing right now. I plan on getting the Definitive Edition some time soon - totally worth it

Denser than humans and then shrank down on top of that reducing the surface area, a heavy but well spread out object will float when an object of the same weight is made smaller it loses that ability to float without help from extra air, equipment or lots of kicking to keep it bobbing in the water.
Dwarves are more dense than human meat would be i think.
A dwarf can throw a dwarf but a giant or dragon ogre will definitely have an easier time. Depending on the Lizardman they should be able to throw a dwarf.
Can lizardmen be affected by cold like normal reptiles? I was under the impression they didn't have that disadvantage?

The old ones were written by or implied to be written by Malcador, the current one or rather the proposed retcon has it coming directly from the emperor and was delivered to Titan at some point after the moon was placed into the warp to wait out the siege of Terra. Like the most recent one prior to this was implied but never directly stated to be a space marine, custodes and primarch killing virus which was developed under Malcador's short time as the leader of the proto-inquisition and grey knights.

That all aside, the fact it was written by the emperor and placed in the vault on Titan likely by the emperor as well because nobody was supposed to have access to the moon, I believe it is actually a way to counteract the Inquisition by sending it's spear hurtling toward the throne world where it can be shattered before the Inquisition has any chance to react to the reawakened emperor and thus strip them of their greatest military power in the assumption that it will both have a fair amount of strength by the time the Emperor gets back up off the throne and assumes the inquisition may be in opposition to or at least divided in reaction to big E walking around again. The whole point of the decree is to serve as a piece of one possible end game for 40k and has been stated to only be needed should an end game scenario occur and will either save the Imperium (in this case knee capping the inquisition and stealing their best weapon as not to impede big E and whatever he may be up to) or doom the Imperium (because in knee capping the inquisition they also remove one of the best available counters for a powerful warp entity or demi-god, whichever level big E is on when he gets up) which would give the decree some purpose given who wrote it and would work in an end game scenario where the Emperor is around the same power level as he was at the start of the great crusade. Mostly because the other big-E-comes-back options revolve around the solar system getting obliterated so the decree can't even be read in that case as everyone would be dead long before that can happen. (Just in case there is any confusion, the psychic choir creates the main body of the flame of the astronomicon while the emperor and the throne are the other part that makes the flame usable as a light house, so in certain scenario's he can actually get up and only create minor disturbances for the light and no maelstrom explosion. Basically the astronomicon would return to something akin to pre-webway project functionality, though obviously the 40k universe brings a lot of changes that'd impede it like they do already.)

I generally think the gunplay works pretty well, I'm not looking for hardcore realism, I generally like the damage balance, however the shotguns, they're classic stupid FPS shotguns that completely defy the actual principle of how they work.

They're not meant to catch multiple people in a spread of pellets, they're supposed to be a somewhat concentrated single shot blast with a cone of effect.

The shotgun you start off with is worse than the shotgun from quake 2, that's literally not how shotguns work, everything else I'm pretty cool with, but a mod that reworks the shotguns to not have a ridiculous spread would be cool.
