No one's debating that. My point was that we're arguing about a decision which has already been made long ago, thinking that this might change. It won't.

What is useful conversation, and what might help is for us to tell the devs what we find to be fun within the limits of the decision they already made.

The comparison I often make is to Harry Potter. If you recall the stories, Harry is a powerful wizard, but he is because he uses his wits and friends to solve problems, not because he whips out his wand and starts blasting every time a bad guy shows up. He's not a magical John Wick. He has to solve riddles, and use things he has cleverly. You don't fight the three-headed guard dog, you enchant a harp to play music and lull it to sleep so you can sneak by. You don't fight the strangling vines that act like a Chinese finger trap. You relax and slide through. If that fails, you save your friend by blasting a hole in the ceiling to let sunlight come in, which the plant recoils away from. He opens the clue about the merpeople by putting it underwater to listen to it, etc.

The game becomes a bit of a puzzle-adventure game. You explore an alien world at your own pace, but have to fight clues along the way to advance the story and deal with various critters or threats you come across.

SN1 and BZ had some of these elements, but they were primitive. Turn off the lights to avoid the bone sharks. Stealth mode on your sub to sneak past leviathans. Creature decoys to draw them away if they attack. Use flares to scare away the snowstalkers. Thumpers to ward away the ice worms. It was basic and you could always ignore these things. In fact, the clues for these were often given after you already had to solve the problem or simply not given at all. Poor design, IMO.

But I think the game would benefit from more of that Harry Potter-esque riddle/mystery concept. I think that's the solution that makes the gun feel unnecessary while still preserving the exploration and adventure aspects of the SN brand.

It really isn't low quality and it plays/looks very nice for what it is, but please keep hovering in communities for games you don't care about and talking ♥♥♥♥.

If i start the game after i start my pc it does not take so long. But if im in the game and decide to restart. it takes 66 sec for the game to start. Is there a fix to this or did valve just decide to make it this way? I asked my friends to clock their time and they had similar times at 68 sec and 72 sec

That's so dumb when demos are only a limited time. I won't have that much time this week to play it. I'll just end up skipping this game. You also want to jack the sale price up on Humankind so I can't try that out before buying, either. No thanks. I'll pass. Synchronous turns sounds terrible.
