They couldn't use most of what they had from the old game other than assets. Your misconception is you believe the game was built on top of the old one. It wasn't. And it is a common misconception held here on the discussion board where people ask why x feature from the first game isn't in this one. So saying your comment had nothing to do with the engine is wrong. It had everything to do with the engine. I never said if the game was good or bad for it. I cleared up your misconception.

My personal opinion is devs should just stick with unreal 4 until unreal 5 actually functions better.
This is not true. Looking through the files of grounded 2 reveals many grounded 1 features still in the files, sometimes identical and untouched from the first.

Example: There is a data table in the files that is literally just the pet gear from the first game. Its linked up to aphid, weevil, gnat pets, etc. But none of those are in the game and this pet gear is unobtainable. This is only 1 example.
So you didn't read my comment at all. Got it. I litteraly said if they got lucky they could use those features. But if they didn't they can't. Anything that didn't transfer can't be used right away. Which is why I said it needed recoded.

Its not. EOMM is a catch-all term for a matchmaker that focuses on what it thinks will keep you engaged when it creates lobbies. Just like with SBMM, not all EOMM operate the same, they just have the same goal: To manipulate you into staying, rather than to trust you will do it on your own because you are having fun.

People say the whole forced 50/50 thing because that's how Overwatches EOMM works. The lead director, Jeff Kaplan, bragged about how if its forcing a 50/50 W/L streak, its doing what its supposed to do, so people tend to think that's what EOMM is, but that isn't the case. EOMM comes in many shapes and forms. Call of Duty's EOMM for example, places lower skilled players who don't spend money against higher skilled players who do, to make the spenders feel skilled so they keep playing, and to make the "junior player" think that spending money will elevate them to the level of the senior player.

The only thing all EOMM has in common, is that it is hostile to the player experience by being horribly in-authentic. It doesn't want to trust a player to come back because they had a good time, it aims to operate more like a slot machine on a gambling addict. It aims to press the specific buttons on a persons brain that makes them not want to quit playing. Whether its handing a ton of losses to someone who is refusing to quit until they end that loss streak, or handing out tons of wins to someone who is refusing to quit because they are on a hot streak, whatever it may be, its only goal is to keep that person logged in and, hopefully spending. There is only 1 thing an EOMM does not care if the player experiences while playing the game: Fun.
The first few sentences you were sounding sane, then everything else is flat out lies. Tells me you havent read the Findings on EnMatch and OptMatch. If you did you would have found that the MM aims to keep people engaged as it takes into account Player fatigue after mass losses, or if the game inst fun it aims to make it fun. This makes sense since MP games now, that are also in the live service market are finding it difficult to retain players. Even games with No EOMM, GloMatch or what ever yall want to call it that use SBMM, RBMM, LBMM see the same results, players hate it and also say those MM are also VERY hostile to players. Especially High Ranking players, while the Average of their populations Struggle.

But to humor you, Ill pretend your right, and it is the one and only EOMM that tries to be ethical. Its terrible at it. Its not fun for most people, which is why the game is absolutely hemorrhaging players, and most of those who quit cite terrible matchmaking as the reason. Its so bad that if I were them, I would honestly say it is EOMM because if they were to try and say its SBMM and its just this bad at making fair matches, it would make whatever team worked on the matchmaking code look like such an inept pile of clowns that it could stain the entire company with how bad they did.
