secure boot exists since win 8 and nobody ever cared about it. now devs are too lazy to make good anti-cheats so they discovered this old feature to be the rescue.
this needs to be stopped right away and EA will feel the impact of their decision.

I will not be buying BF6 if they make Secure Boot mandatory.

I simply REFUSE to make my PC a guinea pig and experiment with it and potentially damage my hardware in the whole process.

On Vigil I think it's even more sinister.
I think originally when the first game was made they had some subplot planned that was hinted at in the game but was abandoned when they changed writers in ME2 and 3.

There are no clues at all of what that subplot could have been but there are many facts we are told on Ilos by Vigil in ME1 that don't add up.
I have a very very long list but here is a summary :

What sensible species would build a prototype, never tested before, and very dangerous because of the amount and type of energy it manipulates in the very center of the presidium where the government of the whole empire resides ?
You would test the rpototype in a location where it can't damage anything important first.

And then how does it make sense to have a relay built in the citadel that only goes in ? That's demented. it completely defeats any security measure the citadel has as was proven by Saren and us.
A way out maybe but in ? Doesn't make sense.

Also how could such a task stay secret ?
Obviously the citadel side of the conduit was completed before the one on Ilos, not only would Proteans on the citadel have noticed, but also the reapers when they came in.
They built the citadel they know what's in it and what isn't.
But they never bothered to remove it or find out where the other side was?

Vigil can tell who is indoctrinated or not ? When did it have access to indoctrinated people to study them and develop such a program ? There were no reapers or indoctrinated people on Ilos.
Also if Vigil could do such a thing other prothean Vi's could have been programmed in the same way, how could there have been indoctrinated agents infiltrating resistance groups as Vigil told us happened if they had the capacity to detect them ?

How could the scientists make a program to modify the reaper signal to the keepers from Ilos ?
They didn't have access to Sovereign obviously, or his signal or the citadel controls or the keepers.
No schematics, no technical knowledge on how they work but they could make a program and even better one that worked the very first time perfectly, no trial and error ?

And finally the scientists went back tot he citadel but couldn't bring Vigil or another VI and install it on the conduit so that it could warn the next cycle far in advance about the reapers ? Really ?

It might just be a huge plot hole but when you see how well the rest of the story and universe were crafted it seems strange they missed such obvious points.
One or two maybe, but as many as there are ? Hard to suspend disbelief that much.

the one on the Citadel (the prototype) was i believe built by the Protheans before the reapers attacked ..
Probably for convenient travel onto the Citadel reapers didn't know about it just like the one
built on the surface of Ilos which wasn't built until after the reapers went back into dark space ..

The story doesn't clarify enough as to which because the Conduit on the Citadel had to be there already otherwise the Prothean scientist wouldn't have been able to travel there using it in order to build one on the citadel ..

so they simply had to build the one on Ilos which was one way with a crucial time limit to use ..

so yeah i'm at a lost as to why that wasn't cleared up before ..

It doesn't matter if you're a cheater or not, the anti-cheat have access to EVERYTHING in your PC, if you use your PC to work it basically means EA can have access to all your work related files, all your personal stuff, EVERYTHING.

And the worst thing? Cheaters will still cheat because it doesn't stop them.

Very funny, it doesn't work tough. Cheaters will still use cheats and EA will have access to EVERYTHING in your PC.

It's not "either this or cheater galore", it won't be "galore" but there will be cheaters anyway, so why bother with this intrusive kernel sh*t? Just to push away a percentage of the playerbase that will not install a kernel game on their machines?
