First time realism mode - what's the best way to expand a far distance?

If you are just building rails/roads to connect somewhere, it can be done from starting location (and workers can be bussed there in summer only when busses have longerst coverable distance).

However if you want to run an industry there, you would need workers for it anyway; so just repeat the starting sequence right away. This time it is faster, though:

- you have (or should at least have) good amount of concrete mixers and dumpers to carry gravel + asphalt + at least it´s source need the starting city. Having them is great for speeding up unstorable materials early on.
- you should set "ImEx DO 2nd city" - import/export only office for only the second city area; in which should flatbed trucks be and supply the city storages with it.
- Few free-COs filled with buldozuers/excavators on site with free gas station will help a lot as well.
- use free storages for storing boards, bricks, prefabs and steel next to future city area; freeCOs or few proper CO16s (CO24 are way to big for only extra 6 slots) will speed up things massively as well
- use CO groups tool to assign materials and materials to where you want them and where from you want them taken.
- plan the city but do not use autosearch for building, instead build the barest minimum possile first (shop, kindergarden, power, water+sewage substation + free TS to fill/empty them, second free TS for waste takeout).
- in spring/summer allow people to move there and inbetween supply a firestation, culture, sports, etc ... with materials and let people FROM THE NEW CITY build them for their new neighbors. After few months that city should be big enough, protected with firestations and unemployment should start rising a little. At that point you let them start building secondary construction industry (their own concrete and asphalt plant) if needed or you go directly for the industry you wanted there in the first place. Those people will build it, have fully grown kids by that point, and then they will smoothly start working in it right away.

The sequence seems long, but it is much faster then realistic start. Now you have tools already ready and sorted. You just use them and optimalise their usage :)
