This feel like a weird decision since Apocalypse seems to be deemed the "Default/Intended" playstyle that the game is seemingly balanced around.

Part of a weapon's balance is how many zombies they can hit in one swing, so it is weird that they designed an entire criteria for a weapon's strength/weakness only to ditch it entirely in the "Default" mode.

Though I guess it depends on whether the weapons' other stats are balanced with multi-hit in mind.

Hmm, mouse and keyboard should work. I will investigate and inform the developers. Thank you so much for bringing this issue up.

Massive necro I'm aware (it used to be called Combat Realism?) but this is for the benefit of anyone coming here via SEO in future including probably my own reference for the next time I drop the game for years before picking it up again. As said, you make ammo in CE with the Loading Bench, but at time of writing it requires these chains of research to build:

Smithing > Gunpowder
Electricity > Machining > Gunsmithing
