they were creating their own genre, I dont mind it since I already love the core of the game, any addition is very welcome. The issue is people is locked into a genre, Moon is like "Lets break the mold and change the old" and im into that mindset, I dont want to play a game that is 90% identical to the original, I might play the original instead, but if its take a fraction from where it inspired and re invent new game mechanics thats where the game will sure be unique because DEV like this have ambition...

Let’s be honest. They were building something their own - up until the moment they started making changes based on bomb reviews and nerf requests from casual players.

Now, they’re just jumping between whatever players want, and it is easy to point out:

1. Ranged Builds: When the game first came out in Early Access, there were no pure ranged builds. Then they added them in one of the updates, removed them in the Breach update, and brought them back again in Breach Refined.

2. Teleports: Before bomb-eviews, they literally said, “We do not want to add teleports because it would make the map design less interesting.” They meant that adding teleports would discourage them to create well designed maps.

3. Challenge and Resource Scarcity: The game launched in Early Access with a promise of being challenging, which was nerfed after Breach Refined.

On top of all that – what is it exactly are they creating their own? An ARPG with survival and roguelite elements?

First of all, why is it suddenly called “Wicked way”?

Second, those survival elements probably will not even be in 1.0. Most players hate them, and the devs are no longer making what they want - they are just creating what the majority wants.

So no, it is not “We are creating something our own” or “Wicked way” as devs like to call it.

Now it is “We are creating whatever the majority players want”

I'm a new player so I can't comment on pre-breach but overall I love the game and admire what the devs have accomplished so far. It feels like it has a strong structure to build upon. I just hope the side features like co-op make a meaningful difference to gameplay rather than simply checking a box. I think it's a big opportunity to add another layer of depth but it might be asking too much at this time.

I agree the game doesn't feel challenging enough in certain ways, i.e. punishment for dying is negligible. Just an armor degradation that i cant easily go home and repair? Eh. At least make us go back and get our stuff from our corpse.

I couldn't imagine the game without teleports, as-is. Constant back-tracking without experiencing something new or meaningful is just a chore. The game-world just isn't massive enough to support that level of hard-core exploration and remain fun.
