Modern hardware forcing DX12, Simple as that.

And people wonder why.

games from 2005 had it no problem. too hard for todays devs. but back in the day where people had to earn their jobs by proving their skills, you could play almost any racing game with your bro and a full AI field, and you could adjust the difficulty, have pit stops, tire wear, fuel usage and everything else. todays devs are talentless, unskilled and poorly qualified, trained to do the bare minimum in most situations.

Excellent mod, but I'd love to have a version with vanilla projectile trails.

So, after setting to 8 CPU and loading the saved game 2 times, I played for more than 8 hours today with only occasional lag spikes. I never had to restart the game and performance did not degrade over time.

Memory usage did not expand and remained around 11-14 gb throughout the day. I was able to consistently do long duration tasks at 16x speed without the hitching and stuttering that I would typically see.

Tomorrow I'll try loading 2 times without setting CPU affinity and see if it behaves any differently.
