You mean the story? Can't say that I agree...

I can understand not everyone like the horror tone, Hume is even more isolated than Garrett, and the way he stumbled into all of this resembles more like cosmic horror like in HP Lovecraft where the main protagonist usually goes crazy in the end in the scale of things he does not understand, and every action he does is futile and only get him closer to his doom, that's why the end of Jaws of Darkness is a good mind ♥♥♥♥, not to mention that the arguable way that The Keepers bait him to their compound somewhat already implied he is a lost cause...

It’s truly unbelievable that when you combine the player numbers and attention from all ARMA titles — ARMA 2, ARMA 3, and even Reforger — they still don’t match what DayZ alone pulls in. And yet, despite this clear success, Bohemia Interactive seems to be funneling DayZ’s revenue into developing the next ARMA, while completely neglecting the game that’s actually thriving. The result? A game that’s been economically starved for over a decade.

Let’s break it down:

The zombies are still bugged, clunky, and oftentimes more frustrating than immersive. How is it possible that after 10 years, the core AI hasn’t been improved?

The game is absolutely overrun by cheaters. BattleEye, the anti-cheat software, is nothing short of a joke at this point. Compared to modern standards — like Arena Breakout Infinite — it’s embarrassing. People teleport, speedhack, wallhack... and nothing gets done.

Bugs and glitches are everywhere. From falling through the map to desync issues and broken vehicles, DayZ feels more like a permanent beta than a finished product. But hey — why fix the game when you can save money, right?

Updates are disappointing and shallow. Instead of giving the community what it’s been asking for — fishing boats, improved cars, helicopters, bikes, motorcycles, or a more intuitive base-building system — we get minor patches and recycled content.

Speaking of recycled content, they keep adding old weapons back into the game as if they’re brand-new. Weapons that used to be in the game years ago are now "new updates." It’s dishonest and lazy. What’s next, bow and arrow as the big surprise feature, even though it existed back in 2016?

Bohemia’s positioning is ridiculous and insulting to the players who’ve kept DayZ alive all these years. We’re not asking for miracles — just for our money to be invested in the game we actually play. Instead, we’re treated like an afterthought while they prioritize a game (ARMA Reforger) that nobody really asked for.

If DayZ had the love, attention, and funding it truly deserved, it could be the best survival game in history. Instead, it’s stuck in a limbo of mismanagement and greed.

It has always been a frustration seeing less and less content. I understand they have revamped the mechanics and engine quite a bit. However it is very clear Bohemia isn't funneling money into the games development. Years after years, weve hoped to see at least the same content get readded. Still hasn't fully happened, which is pretty poor form.

Instead we've seen them release two maps, with a third in the pipeline. They must have figured that its the most cost effective way of getting more money from Dayz. Pulling in new and old players with new content. What frustrates me is how content from the mod isn't in the base game. Get all content in before you do new maps. It's truly sad how mods develop faster then the actual devs.... In 10 or so years, i wish there was better AI, zombies and human npc and a better loot mechanic (like what was sold by dean hall all those years ago!). I do miss the mod days of flying in dayz. Imagine how good it would of been in todays dayz, but bohemia development lol
