The reason the author started posting update announcements is because a competitor has emerged. That competitor even supports online multiplayer and card battles against NPCs. The author only released an update after realizing their game was dying. Pathetic guy.

BL4 has been wishlist'able for a year now so it would be high on the list; it currently sit at #43 in trending with almost exactly one month left to go. The game will have to stand almost entirely on its own merit on launch, there's no hype or goodwill left for the franchise.

Which is absolutely no problem in a vacuum and in the short term, but does put a pretty big question mark on the game recouping and then justifying its 300 million budget. If the game is good enough though all will be forgiven.
