A very simple solution to this if you really really really want to keep secure boot.
is just have separate instances, have a version that allows people to use it without secure boot and give them a warning on boot mentioning that Secure boot is off and it might affect the experience.

My guess is that it's a harddrive full of blackmail footage? It's marked '23-'24.mp4 x 32 I.C.E', which could mean it's 32 videos taken between 2023 and 2024, with 'I.C.E' meaning 'in case of emergency', with the log with dates found in the same room listing everyone Duke might have dirt on. Even if Harry did send that cheque in, Duke still may have kept it just in case. There are all the bears with cameras in them too, not just in the Mouse room.

You mentioning the mouse room has me wondering something.

Vinny gets a text message from Duke to say there is a "gift" waiting for him in the Mouse Room. I think it's pretty clear what actually was waiting for him, but do you think whatever happened in that room is what led Vinny to writing the message left in the storeroom? Vinny says he's "not like that" and Duke notes on the other side of the note to "make sure Vinny's name is added to the log and make sure footage is saved."

The timing is what confuses me here though because Vinny is noted in the log during Winter 2023 so that implies Vinny was under his thumb for at least a year (I'm going off the other entries marked Winter 2024 and assuming Chase is in the mansion after he did the deed), but they never had any correspondence via text after that? Actually Vinny just stopped responding to texts at all after Duke's conversation so maybe he was given a new one that Duke could trace? I assumed Vinny's phone was taken after his murder so they could cover it up, but maybe his phone was confiscated earlier as a show that he'd be willing to make sacrifices for his career. Maybe even during the first video we see of Vinny rehearsing and Duke goes crazy about the phone going off.

Hope you don't mind me theorising. I've been thinking about the game on and off since finishing it.

im not being bombed or oppressed, I've had a very uneventful upper middle class life without too many tragedies, im incredibly lucky and fortunate compared to 90pc of the world's population.

Probably a glitch, easter egg, or some weird way engine handles objects.

If you know that pressing the flash button isnt going to clear cmos, why recommend it to reset then? The guy took your advice, as evidenced in his reply, and came to the conclusion that flashing his bios was the solution to changing the secure boot setting, so if you already knew it isnt the same thing as a reset, why convince the other guy otherwise?
