Radial menu to enter, get teleported to a grassy field far away. Tried multiple time even changed mod load order. Not working.

Subnautica's native VR mode does not support VR controllers, so a gamepad or a keyboard and mouse are still required.

With Okabintaro's SubmersedVR, there is an experimental Subnautica mod that adds controller support and plenty of QoL improvements, however, it has not been updated since 2023 and does not support the 2025 update of Subnautica. Should be okay though with the older branch.

Since you mention Vortex, you likely attempted to install some mods. Though, SubmersedVR's README.md contains a warning about Vortex not properly handling its installation steps.

IWhol's Subnautica VR Enhacements Mod is another good way to fix some limitations of Subnautica's vanialla VR mode. It is compatible with the 2025 update, but I don't htink it supports VR controllers specifically.
