I made it through once today and then on my 2nd run fell while trying a climb. It is very hard to know where to go. I made it today by going left and up but tried it again and got lost and stuck and died.

Because the last few times I tried it, I got bodied.

I will own up to being wrong on that front - the key really was just getting Quicksilver Dagger with Predeployable.

i haven't played anything but covenant 10 since the first week the game came out, and I currently have a 49 game winstreak going

that's why i said savagery pyre. penumbra can frequently scale up to 400-500 atk when you go monstrous floorboss.

I tried this after reading.
The first time, I got Savagery, and it straight up did not work. He couldn't punch through the Gladiators even with Doublestrike and my other units couldn't handle the Sweeps.

Subsequent attempts were made against Entropy and brought the Void Weapon

Except you can't eat them if they die chumping for you, which they usually will.
This is fine for the other two builds, but Glutton is utterly useless if it can't start feeding.

This is a problem when you have to devote floorspace to morsels Penumbra can't eat repeatedly.

I also tried Glutton again a couple of times. It went badly.

Notice that aside from Penumbra you only have one Umbra unit. The set-up looks like they're meant to be mostly incidental, with the Void Spike serving as an occasional power boost.

This one has more Umbra in it, but it also has the Banished, who I'd put at the opposite end of the power spectrum.

For instance, Everlasting Light is hilariously busted.

basic takeaway summary - penumbra is decent (but not great), and is probably one of the most straightforward champions in the game. there's not a lot of strategy involved, with as much space as he takes up you can't just rely on his raw stats. so you gotta scale his damage high enough to solo-carry by investing heavily in both equipment and support spells.

there is one thing worth mentioning: it is pretty important to come up with some form of quick if you intend to go the monstrous route (quick dagger merged equipment or warblers in my examples)

See my previous statement about the Banished; there was a reason I had both crowns for Umbra/Banished in my initial screencap.

I know, Umbra is weak, slow, space reliant, weaker due to unit limit, people dislike it, I get it. But saying its unplayable on Cov 10 is a blatant lie. Everything is playabe, the game is rng based after all.

You _can_ punch down a wall made of solid concrete with your bare hands.

It will, of course, depend upon the thickness of the wall and how much time you allow for it to happen.

If someone tells you it is impossible to punch down a solid concrete wall with your bare hands, while there is some ambiguity due to the nature of language, you can understand that they are most likely trying to tell you 'this isn't a good way to do this'.

To be as specific as I can be, when I say - again -
'Umbra is largely unplayable'
It can be understood to mean
'In this game where a large amount of emphasis is on how the clans interact with one-another, Umbra is weak, slow to set up, takes up too much space relative to what their units do, gets screwed by morsels taking up space resources, and generally is annoying and unfun to play. This is to the degree that, on Covenant 10, the best Penumbra strategy appears to be 'ignore as much of the Umbra's central mechanic as possible and just brute force it.'.

If you COULD get bothered by what is currently in the game, you must be bothered by the fact the characters are lizard people, because that tiny fact they must mean they support (*Im not getting banned for mentioning that topic*) which just isn't mentioned and as such is unjust to assume about anyone.

The only "support" I see is the player available optional patch to wear the gender flag. As far as "I don't want any of it" goes, its like, the least it can be. Its like pronouns in the Character creation in BattleTech. Meh, you taste it, you spit it out. The rest of the meal is awesome.

Personally, as someone who unfortunately completely knows what you mean, no. Its not in Project Silverfish at the current moment. But if you cannot give money to people who tolerate the triangle circle stripe flag? Then yeah, that might cross your threshold...

Honestly this game gives me the 'this is what 'tolerance' actually is, not whatever political insanity has happened lately' You're free to make your character look, as far as a lizard person can, however you like. The game doesn't really go beyond that, as other people have said. There's a shoulder patch thing, but honestly who cares. If that was the extent of it in things like COD, I doubt people would care much there, as originally the thought was 'cool, we all like guns and soldier ♥♥♥♥, lets get it' but I really don't think anyone pushing massive ID politics stuff who actually plays games gives a rats ass beyond having some things, like in this game, be an option for when making custom characters is a thing. That makes sense, when you're playing a game with custom characters it is cool to see yourself in the character, at least as much as you can reasonably. Most people are not SOF operators, lol.

Point being, I think you'll love the game, and if it helps any when I saw the question I was like "Wait, what?" But I get where you're coming from, its just such a non-topic in this game that I forgot that there'd be any point in noting what gender or anything your character is beyond "I am a gunzard, with sci fi powers and a debt the size of Texas." lol. Sorry, a bit rambly, but hopefully it makes sense.

I like the pride flag. Idc about it much though.

It's easier/more manageable than the Alpine, at least in my opinion. The Sandstorm is the biggest threat in the biome besides the Dynamite landmines- but at least you can throw the dynamite.

Climb on the inside during the day, climb outside at night (or while you have Sunscreen). Parasol lets you move during sunlight, but you can't climb. It's also not too bad to just tank the heat for a short time like you're in the Caldera and take a break in the shade afterwards. Unless you're going for the Cucumber badge anyway.
