What does that second part actually do? Does it gives his faction access to global recruitment which VCoast doesn't have, does it increase something else, or just do nothing? (it's not like one skill point for 10 upkeep reduction is bad, but it's odd to have something so obviously wrong...)
They have global recruitment, but it´s about the units which You can recruit in settlements - like with all other factions. I´m unsure, but i guess only dark elves don´t have global recruitment, but they have the arks, which are basically superior. Certain factions can have a rather huge global recruitment pool though - so then global recruitment can be very convenient (if You have the spare money). Else the culprit of global recruitment is usually the longer recruitment times, and that all armies share the same pool. So i personally rarely use it. Maybe in the endgame, when i want to recruit a whole new army, and don´t care to wait 8 turns for it - or two armies simultaneously, but the local slots are limited or don´t offer the units, and i don´t want to move them around.

On a side note: the ship recruitment for vampire coast is slightly bugged, because other armies can´t recruit from them if the ships are not in a settlement.

VCounts don't have it either. I guess I skipped it over when I was looking at Coast, I assumed it was because Counts have Raise Dead instead. But maybe it's just due to their lack of encamp stance.

defense boost is a waste of slot if I can already survive getting hit by gore without them to begin with. Take more evade window instead of extender in this case.
heck, even at 405 defense and AT rey's ability causing me to have permanent defense down, I do not get one shot with the IG if I eat an attack I shouldn't and would hurt a lot.

even 1 piece of earplugs would be fine for IG due to it's innate ability to have another lvl of FF/EP.

I can't see what your actual gear is but ♥♥♥♥ gear aside, it shouldn't take over 20 minutes to hunt a gore with this type of gear.

Yep I was contemplating crit boost. I don't understand why element boost would be bad specifically for ig but I can switch that out. I aim for the head, front legs and tempered wound spots so I think wex is activating enough to be worth it, otherwise I'd have to respec into crit eye for affinity. I'll work on it, thanks for the tips
