Only Use Credit Card for Market Items
I have about $4 in my wallet and i want to save that, so i want to use my prepaid credit card to buy some CS: GO skins. The problem is that I don't know how to only use the card and not the wallet funds. It is a MasterCard Vanilla

Market only uses wallet funds.

When you buy a game funds are first taken from wallet then any remainder from card used.
When you buy on markey funds are taken from your wallet. You can't use a cards for maket use alone. You have to add from card to wallet. It's how it works.

Incorrect. When buying a game, you are able to select any form of payment you like. You may chose to pay entirely with a card even when you have money in your steam wallet. If you chose to apply the steam wallet funds first, you may do so.

The market however, only allows payment from your steam wallet.

Nah he is right you can use your card but it takes from steam wallet first then your card (example: If i buy a $20.00 game and have $3.00 in my account and use my credit card it will only take $17.00 out of my card but take the remaining $3.00 from my steam wallet)

why do you necro a 4 year old thread that includes misinformation just to add even more misinformation

you even explained it wrong.

final statements:
1) the Steam community market only uses Steam wallet. you can not buy with any other payment method.

2) on purchasing products from the Steam store such as games, you can select if you want to use Steam wallet funds or not. if chosen so, they will be used first and if they are not sufficient the remaining amount will be taken from your selected external payment method. not the other way.
this is made very clear at the checkout process (if someone can read)

Only if you select to do it that way, which you do not have to do.

Pretty sure ALL market items must use wallet funds for purchasing.

Market items can only be purchased with money that is cleared i.e via the wallet. If they allowed credit/debit cards to be able to purchase such items, fraud would go through. They wont even allow verified longstanding trusted payment methods in fear of charegebacks and the fraud papertrail would be devastating.
