Then, you'll probably have ask around in the forums for said games to find out whether they support multiple controllers.
I'll try to get used to it.
But when you download the game its different.
They actually mean both controllers control one character which is not ideal.
upper left. 1st controller.
upper right. 2nd controller.
etc
if both are upper left then both are the first controller. you have to replug one while holding the home button. then it will not be registered as player one but a non-occupied higher player number
"local multiplayer" is a user tag. means it is partly crowdsourced by idiots like us. so it might be inaccurate but by definition local multiplayer also includes things like csgo, which you can play in LAN, which is local multiplayer. user tags also do no count as false advertising.
the shared/split screen feature tag is a better indicator for what you look for. that is set by the product owner. wrongly set, this might be false advertising f.e. if #nomansbuy had multiplayer listed there, then the ASA would have charged them with false advertising. so, feature tags are way more accurate.
usually the games store page should mostly include information how a game is played in those conditions.
if you are unsure, just ask in the games board (hub of game -> discussion)
that is also the place to ask if you encounter errors and possible bugs.
What's probably going to blow OP's stack are the Xbox One wireless controllers, do I have Bluetooth version that needs to pair with my PC? If it's not pairing with my Windows 10, where is the Xbox gamebar settings? Do I need the wireless adapter? I'm on Windows 7? :D
For OP, I'd ditch video games altogether, take your sexy beastie-self and better-half to a local pub and play pool there or, if you have Dave & Busters nearby, go there.

You've just discriped my problem with words 👍🏽
I thought I was a victim for false tag
Till I found it on the bottom of the screen press = to join
I was relieved. 😃
