What a poor argument.
All someone has to do from another language is utilize a word filtered for a specific reason to use as the word is intended for in basically every other language. So as the rest of us know, they'd rather not let people bypass by setting their client to a certain language just to be able to bypass filters to use words towards others.

Get over it. Learn a more civil word to use.

Also, the word filters are applied server side to the displayed text. The original stays unaltered. The server knows what forum the post is part of and could just apply a different filter. It's not rocket science nor difficult, just takes someone to implement an actual sensible solution instead of the usual Valve method of using a hammer for everything.

You are going to get multi0linguistic people, you are going to get things that YOU Might not use but others will.

I used to have a cat Mimsy. When I played MMOs I would often call my characters after my cats.

I forgot that Mimsy is also a word for female gentalia as slang here in Britain. So yeah, I caght the end of that one too. Was I annoyed? Nope, because as soon as I realised when I got the message I simply accepted it because it was valid.

Sure "thick" is not so often used as "Less".
But i can guarantee you that you cant write in a MMO forum without using the word "less" at least 10 Times per day
At least "dicker" works, what means "thicker"

Yes I can because they're botht same - words that have alternative meaning that are blocked by filters.

The point is you agree to this and there's ♥♥♥♥ all you can do about it. Now to an extent at least. You can always message the appropriate people and ask why this is. If it's in error then they'll look at it. but if it ain't they'll tell you.

But you are simply claiming it isn't a thing which we don't know.

Ive seen many people over the years say "this is not a thing in my country" and it absolutely is. Just that they didn't know of it. It does happen.

It doesn't matter if a word has ten different alterior meanings. If it's on the filter, it's on the filter.

There are very few words that have true synonyms. English has a few more because it consists of Germanic, Normanic, and Latin vocabularies but in most languages different words have a slightly different meaning or tone. There is no reason for words to mean exactly the same. It's not economic to have both of them around for long.

No, that's a strawman. I don't expect anything of the sort.

What is reasonable to expect is that ANYBODY has at least a basic vocabulary. Yes, even people learning a new language.

And as google is a mere web browser away that's a daft claim anyway.

The point is what you're complaing about is nothing new. THE WHOLE INTERNET has been operating this way for decades. Filters exists and some words are filtered even if they have other meanings that are innocuous.

I'm sorry but your lack of knwoledge of this does not make it wrong, nor will it make it change.
