Suggesting for games similiar to minecraft?

Im not sure if im in the right forum but me and my gf have been playing minecraft alot but getting bored and i was wondering if theres similiar games like that?

Something more open world and not so story driven like on rails, and you have the freedome to do what you want preferable not pvp but can too. Something like 7days to die was one of our ideas but i´d like to hear more if theres better games?

Goes on sale all the time and is voxel based like minecraft I know you said it was one of your ideas but its a really good one and they have a 2 pack so you could even get it at a better discount.

Extremely open world, no real story (but they are working on adding one in upcoming free update) so its very open world. Game is primarily PvE but PvP is possible but not the focus of the game, its primarily coop.

it also has a very robust modding community and lots of great mods

Not related to the thread because my personal suggestion of Empyrion has already been mentioned, but I can't help myself anyway....

Don't forget that you can mod the heck out of Minecraft if you'd like. A launcher such as Prism can make this really straightforward and there are dozens of really cool mods out there which can seriously change the game for you.

For example: I love playing with Empyrion, but... the Ad Astra mod can give you somewhat of the same experiences: being able to build a spaceship and visit other planets. Figured I'd mention it... if it weren't for mods my gf and me probably wouldn't be playing anymore.

Honestly I'd recommend 7 Days to Die and that's it.

There's quite a few like this obviously and some of them are quite good, but NOTHING beats 7 Days to Die for being utterly compelling.

I used to play Minecraft a hell of a lot from the early betas when monsters had only just been instroduced to when MS took it over.

And when 7 Days to Die came out on console it was at a state where it really gelled with me. I have returned to it so many times and it just offers so much variety, something that I just don't get from Minecraft any more.

So yes, I think this is your best bet.
