'Cars' = 'Automobile Sim' Now??

I was looking at a game I came across on YouTube and wondering why it was filtered out. People have tagged it an Automobile Sim. The game's only interaction with cars is driving them or being hit by them. But that's enough to label it an Automobile Sim? Seriously? What next, is every game with people in it going to be labelled a life sim? Is every game with a gun in it going to be labelled a shooter? Is every game with buildings going to be tagged 'Architecture Simulator'?

I can't filter out text-only games because there is no text-only tag and the text-based tag is being applied to all visual novels. The 'Choices Matter' and 'Choose Your Own Adventure' tags are being applied to any game that isn't strictly linear. Every single game with a Fantasy theme and tag also has Adventure, RPG and Strategy, no matter how inappropriate. Oh, and there are 'Political', 'Political Sim' and 'Politics' tags. I've never seen those used separately. Pick ONE, please!

Yes, I am aware that I can flag a tag as inappropriate, and did. Don't Starve and its DLCs are falsely labelled multiplayer, despite being separate products from the multiplayer Don't Starve Together. If a game that famous is falsely labelled, I don't expect any other false tags to be removed either.

Tags are user generated. Report wrongly applied tags and move on.

Tags get removed if X amount of users has reported the tag. It might mean other people don't consider the tags an issue and that people simply move on.

It might need a tweak to get a lower threshold, though I've seen tags I reported get removed from games.

to be fair ... some mods for it are better than some specifically developed games.

anyway, as long as the tags are mildly applicable, i see no issues.
if you feel a tag can be applied, add it.
if you feel a tag is wrongly applied, report it.

this also counts for existing tags, if you feel they are correct, apply them again, the tags are also internally ranked for their weight. the order of the list actually has a meaning.

Bah! You haven't played a "real" car sim until you blow a piston. Or have the engine block fall off. Or having to find that one screw somewhere on the engine that hasn't been turned all the way... Thank god for "My Summer Car"... I hate it sometimes. :P
