The discounts during Steam sales are really not that great anymore. Most of the time you can get the game for the same or cheaper the whole year if you look around.
With sites like https://isthereanydeal.com/ that lists all authorized reseller sales at the moment and a bunch of bundles sites, its very rare indeed for me to buy anything on Steam directly and for full price.
So how many games you bough from other sources?
Maybe about 10% are from Humble Bundle, Amazon or Green Man Gaming. Humble Bundle being the one I get the most from (bundles) and GMG being the least.

# of units moved has improved between 2 summer sales
Note that the 'coupon clippers' of Steam are by and large the minority of users. When looking at sales as a whole, Steam obviously doesn't see too much of a problem with the way sales are going.
Recently i think around 12-16?(Bundlestars, GMG,Humble Monthly+ Atari Vault from you-know-which site
There is a site- "www.steamdb.info" .....here you can see the lowest recorded price for any games on steam. Just enter the name of the game in the search field.
Yeh, it's starting to get very noticeable on other sites as well. I've cut way back on the number of games I buy in a year, but fortunately I have enough backlog for a couple of years.
With the popularity of digital games, the industry has woken up to the fact that they can remarket their old catalogues and price them according to current trends.
repeat that a hundred times.
I tend to avoid bundles other than Humble because I feel like they're a bit of a trap for developers. Generally I'd rather buy their works individually for a fair price.
