Yes, it's the start of a scam. Valve is not going to contact you over discord. Users reporting you won't do anything unless you're actually doing the things you're being reported for.

Yes its a scam, if Valve will be banning your account or locking it (not deleteing it, they dont do that except if asked for) they will not give any warning less of all from Discord

Your account got compromised because you're using a non-steam site to do trades, gambling or... that 'feature' for match making which comes up with a LOT of scam/virus hits on a google search. Use steam only for steam stuff.

Yeah, someone on Discord told me to add someone named "SOLO#5346" because they reported me for illegal purchasing, saying I scammed them of $2500 or it was someone impersonating me and thought it was me. The message they sent me didn't even mention stealing money, it only mentioned taking peoples' accounts.

It does not matter what supposed violations they’re manufacturing—legitimate agents will not contact a user through a third-party service.

Just a general rule of thumb, if anyone messages you on Discord regarding anything related to Steam it's almost always a scam.
