None of them. Because without multiple games and multiple communities to participate in I simply don't see the use of Steam.

For me the true "power" of Steam is its extensiveness. I love seeing mutual "whines" (IMO anyway) in several communities, I enjoy seeing people complain "no other game does this!" to which I can respond with "I beg to differ, see this link" and I really enjoy seeing how many problems within some of my favorite games are honestly not excluded to those games, not at all actually!

This is why I love playing on Steam, it's versatility and its true diversity. Take those away and there wouldn't be a compelling reason for me to play here, I'll take Solitaire over that mess thank you very much.
I thought TF2 would be that game but burnout happened and i no longer play it.

Sheluser nailed it.
None. Not only do I agree with what ShelLuser said, I also crave variety. Playing one game only will get boring after a few years. Even if the game is deeply moddable (Half-Life showed the way back then), all those mods will be roughly similar. And when a mod goes full-release, it will get purged from the list of allowed things to play then.
When allowed only one game for the rest of my life, I see myself quitting gaming alltogether.
I wouldn't be using Steam if they only had one game.

L4D2? I mean there are not many games that are exclusive to Steam, so what? And having a console even gets around those that are absolutely require Steam on PC.

The better question would be "To what games are you circling back all the time after playing various other games in your seemingly endless backlog?"

At least that is my modus operandi. I would be bored to death, only playing one game.

My "circling back games" are Skyrim and Fallout 4 with heavy modding. And some space sim games like Rebel Galaxy and the X series. with mods, too.

If I could play only one game forever.. it wouldn't be on Steam. It would be Minecraft, modded beyond oblivion. And even I get sick of playing Minecraft after a while.

Baldur's gate 2

Do you do the "iron men" challenges ? One save - no respawns if you die ?

If I were truly forced to play one game, that'd be EXTREMELY difficult for me. I don't operate under that weird tier system that a lot of people do, where they have a map of the top 10 or so best games according to them. I have good and not, and something in between and that's it.

There are a few that I would seriously consider though, and many would not be Steam present. Minecraft, obviously, as the bang for buck is beyond anything else can offer.

If I was forced to choose just one, I might even consider going back to classic WOW, again bang for buck and longevity.

But there's also the Witcher 3, or Shadow Man, or Jet Set Willy (ZX Spectrum version). Too many to consider really.
50/50 between L4D2 or Payday 2. Hell, they're the only games I play at all now...
Arma 3 for sure, with all the modding options it should take years to burn out.
