cooking stations do not work

When I go to a cooking station that is already there or one I have created.. they do not give me an option to bring up menu!! Where you would expect "cook" to show up on left it shows a greyed out "create" the right side "transfer" works showing the contents of the work bench

I had to replace my stove when my cooking station stopped working. Wasn't cheap either.

This for Fallout 4... The settlers seem to be able to use them

Making ghoul-burgers might do that.

Although most stoves are pretty tough.
I've heard that "Bloated Glowing Ghoul" specialties can meltdown most non-rad stoves.
