well i mean thanks bro thats cool
Overall, as said nothing since you are not allowed to sell the account but just check SteamDB as you know but the External Funds Used is a neat way to see also.

you can't sell accounts as they are owned by Valve before you get ideas, because you rent the account, you are only entitled to use the service in the way Valve lets you. Beyond that it has no value, no matter what steamdb claims.

^ this

You aren't allowed to sell it.

It has no value it's just money you spent.

Its not really " what its worth" but "how much did i spend".
SteamDB shows the spend money if you would have bought everything during sales and if you bought everything normally.
Thats why its X - Y
So the truth will be most likely somewhere in the middle of that number.

This should be close to what you've spent.

As for the actual worth, as said before, it's $0 because you can't sell it.

true
:teddy_talk: To OP, It has value

It's interesting that most low-level types state "no value" or "nothing" as their cost is low to nil.
Person A has over 100k in legit earned achievements (ugh, and minus the splitting hairs of how or what "legit" is) versus person B with 100 achievements who declares, "Achievements mean nothing"

Achievements are usually unlocked by time and effort. That has value.

One could spend time building a fence around an acre, instead that time and effort was used to unlock achievements. To the outside world, what a waste-of-time but to achievement junkies, it's a job well done, especially those super-hard ranked match achievements.

The market for your account, mine and others have value in a limited market.
I spend "real" money on my Steam account, games, levels and other nifty doodads, I wouldn't call that nothing, to me it has value as I've "invested" time and effort into my account and the games I have and play on it.

Avoid having the scarcity mentality as the zero-sum paradigm of life.
To me, everything and anything has value.

The account is virtual, it is owned by Valve and we rent the account and no matter how much time and effort you put into it, Steam could cease tomorrow if Gabe wanted it and wipe all our data, games the whole bit without giving us any warning and neither can we hold them to blame on how they change their service because we agreed to hold them harmless.

what you consider of value is the idea that you feel you are entitled to in some think that any effort or money you spent on this virtual market and library would mean it does really have value. However virtual items and currency have no real value and for that matter, neither does the account as it too is virtual. You can spend thousands of hours in a game building your efforts up, but none of it actually means anything.

Edit: one day Steam will shut down, that is a simple fact. I'd just add that we should all enjoy the service and everything it offers for as long as you can as things come and go.

:teddy_talk: Begone "Off-Topic"

It is about monetary value not about any imaginary fairy world values. So you're the one that's off-topic. Of course does the Steam account have a value, at least an entertainment value for example. Monetary value tho...

How much you've spent is the ONLY value you can append here.

It is not WORTH anything as it cannot be resold. That's the point.

I do keep a rough guideline on my spend on Steam, as I have to keep an inventory of all my games for insurance reasons, it's no biggie to add Steam games to my spreadsheet. As such, the average price for games I've spent on Steam is about £1.50.

I'm one hell of a cheapskate. But then, that's why I have so many games.

Yeah, so don't concern yourself with unreal things like "worth" because there isn't one. Try looking at things like spend, averages and so on. These are incredibly useful for working out how to be a cheapskate as you can soon get a good picture of when to buy games when they're at their cheapest and so on.
