Looking for more mature gamer's 30+...atleast

I have been playing video games since I could hold a controller. I'm 40 years old now and the biggest problem I find with gaming today, especially on PC, is the toxicity and too many kids. I dont go to Jr high schools and make friends with local teenagers...so why am I stuck playing games with kids still in school that try and make every match in a game that's played as important as the Olympics. To me, playing online is a way to not have to split screen and play with friends.

I actually like playing games for the...wait for it...FUN. I dont measure my self worth to other ppl that lost a match, bragging about being the most awesome gamer, and everyone sucks because I won a match in a game...once upon a time. I dont care who wins i care how the game is played and that its fun for everyone. Fair and fun is all that matters to me, ive played thousands of matches and i dont waste time bragging about my victory or complaining that I lost...i move onto the next match...Im worried about having a good time not hiding or doing whats easiest to get the outcome I want...NO GUTS NO GLORY!

I play lots of games mostly cooperative multiplayer games. Im not too much into competitive multiplayer unless its team based. I like team play. I like racing games, shooters mostly like 3rd person but i do play FPS as well. I have games like The Division, GTA V, Rainbow Six, PubG, SCUM, Ring of Elysium, Far Cry 5, Dying Light, Wreckfest, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Dead By Daylight, Ark, Injustice 1&2, Mortal Kombat X, Sniper Elite 3&4, Spin Tires 1&2... the list goes on. I only been on PC for 2 years now and I need some good players to kill time with and have some fun and laughs.

I love playing games and would like to get back to actually enjoying them instead of mostly arguing with children about how to be good sports, and abusing game mechanics in a game isnt actually skill and defeats the purpose of playing the game. I feel like I'm walking down the hallways of my old Jr high school...Too much drama...

Hence why I posted this to try to find some ppl to play with...maturity isnt only about how ppl act...Maturity has a lot to do with how we process information and situations and react to them. The only reason I play most of those games that I normally wouldn't play is because I have friends that play them, I like the coop aspect specifically...

I also have a much different mindset than when I was younger...when your older you dont think about things in the same way, you dont care about popularity or wearing cool clothes, responsibilities are much different...the list goes on and on...

I play with my own kids a certain way and I wouldnt do things around them that I would with ppl more my own age...plus a LOT of kids nowadays think they know everything(like most of us did) and cant take advice, im trying to give them advice and they take it like I wanna tell them what to do. Hell even saying a kid is a kid, they take it as an insult most of the time.

Not to mention when you get older you dont care about winning or losing, u realize playing a game is like playing any other game, its just a waste of time...something to do, escape reality getting into a story and immersing yourself in the world your playing. Shooting ppl and robbing them. Plus there is nothing like being told that you suck at video game because u died in a round or lost a match one time.

Kids tend to attach too much importance to every insignificant event...like when I was growing up we got 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place ribbons...nowadays they get a ribbon for successfully exchanging oxygen to carbon dioxide...participation award...smh

Almost 40, American, speak english, have good mic, super fast internet, good rig, pretty relaxed, etc.

Problem finding guys like us is most aren't really looking for friends anymore... many don't even post they just mind their business and play their games... I'm trying to not do that so much.

Just added a ton of games and I'm trying to play more social, MP/co-op games than I used to.

If you're looking for a pro-type team-mate that's not me, I just like to play games and have fun, but I will get competitive if the situation calls for it.

Anyone go ahead and add me if you want too.

So glad I found this thread. I'm in the same boat. Please add me, I just got my gaming PC up and running as of Nov. I also play on xbox one. Also I've done searches for groups like this but I don't seem to find many all that active since 2013 or 2016.

Why not focus on the way gamers behave vs. how old they claim to be?

Because if there's one thing I've learned it's that even "mature" players can easily throw tantrums that would give your average adolescent teenager a run for their money

My gf and me played on Minecraft servers with teenage kids (and their family) who were way more mature than some of our IRL friends. Age really only means so much.

I have a World of Warships clan that has many openings(Info in my profile) but as a FtP it's not bad. However up until late it had been a bit arena like. But, they have listened and relented some. And are trying to create actual content, as opposed to a gimmick ship. Never-the-less, it is still fun to blow the crud outta bots with big-a $ $ guns. That sound incredible, if you have sound. But, the art dept, it always head and shoulders above the rest. A pretty game as well. I play many other games types genres, as well as having previous game testing exposure professionally.
Fallen Earth, anyone? :)

im in a dilemna, im an older gamer yet i like trollan and having "fun" in unorthodox manners that annoy certain personalities. i will never find a group, i am destined to ride out the gamerlyfe alone until NeuraLink Game addon is released, the brainchip where you can replay other peoples memories. it can also trick the brain into convincing your in a virtual environment is real.
