That was for trading card spamming, these games don’t have cards.

I'm a bit disappointed, that the ... "developer" ... doesn't even make the effort to sell it as a game. The Achievement Hunter franchise is at least a game of some description.

Well, on the other hand that game might be the best that happened to the current situation. According to the reviews of the other version you will get an achievement only every other second and it takes 4+ hours to unlock them all.
That means you can easily say it is meant to game Steam's "engagement" threshold for guaranteed trading cards at a later point. And Valve *really* doesn't like it if you try to game their systems. :D

True but this comment (if true)
"The 173 removed games include titles like Clickey, Grim Banana and SHAPES. If you’re unfamiliar with those names, it’s likely because these and the rest of the Silicon Echo games were poorly received and what Valve calls “fake” games."

lead me to believe such games as the one in my first post (which is very clearly a "fake game") Steam no longer wanted on their platform...
If you feel this game is not supposed to be on Steam, you can report it on its store page.

It was more due to issues with Silicon Echo and their behaviour that that lot got removed. The one in question is honest about the type of "game" it is and how it works hasn't been uploaded multiple times under different names doesn't charge a ridiculous price and has devs that haven't yet stirred up a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with treatment of the community.

In other words its giving certain people what they want in a way that isn't causing trouble so while we may not like it I can't say I mind Valve allowing it to stay.
It's another example of people putting value into the value less - in this case Steam Achievements.

Steam achievements do virtually nothing save change a figure on your profile and allow you to display some icons.

They're also some indication of how much of your life you have wasted playing computer games.

But quantum of achievements really tell you nothing. Their true value is to developers who can use them to see how players approach their games - how many people keep playing to the end and whether there are any cliff drop off stages beyond which far fewer players progress. For multiplayer certain achievements can also flag potential cheats.

This doesn't pretend to be anything that it isn't and it's sad that people actually will pay money for it.

S.x.

Valve limited the number of achievements a game could have last year. That doesn't stop people from making crappy achievement games though, just puts a cap on them.

Achievement idler "games"
This has gone way too far. It seems that the quality control of Steam has reached its absolute bottom point. We're now getting games that can't even be called games anymore. Just look at this:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/850050/Achievement_Idler_Red/

Something needs to be done. These "games" do not only annoy people, they're also hurting real indie developers who already struggle to get their games known, because their releases get buried under all this achievement idler garbage. This not only hurts the visibility of their games, it also makes people less willing to browse through new game releases.

How much did you get for advertising?
ReBoot May 5, 2018 @ 2:31am
Frankly, how does this really matter? Fact is, there are people who enjoy getting E10 achievements, especially in quick succession. At the end of day, that's how any market works, supply and demand. And there clearly is demand for pointless achievement hoarding.
Falsus Te Deum May 5, 2018 @ 2:47am
As long as people buy them, they will be made.
Ignore and move on.
And as @Radene asked, what did you get for advertising it?
It is strange that this game has 2 threads at the moment. No one would have known about them outside achivmenthordes.

I will not ignore them because they have become a problem. I am not an achievement hoarder yet they are constantly popping up whenever I look through new or upcoming games. I don't want actual games to drown under this garbage, that's why I complain. If you only play and look at top selling games then they may not a problem for you... or that's what you'd think. But thanks to this achievement spam garbage some really interesting games might never even make it to top selling. Not only they are annoying, they are hurting Steam as a platform.

I don't know why but I've noticed that the suggestions forum is one of the most toxic places on Steam. Lots of threads get nasty answers like Radene's and get locked very quickly. I don't want this thread to turn one of those threads. So please, if you don't have anything constructive to say, then follow your own advice: just move on. I would also request moderators to clean up the thread instead of locking it, if it ever proceeds to that point. It really is a shame that it's so hard to have a proper discussion these days.

Here is the easy solution, stop searching for them, no one is forcing you to buy stuff you don't like, problem solved.

Without your topic about this game, I would never have known it existed.
