Why are all my friends pictures getting banned?
My friends pictures has been banned 3 days in a row now, they have been screenshots of games and one was an artwork that her friend made for her. Why do they get banned? Also the screenshot that got banned was over a year old. Sorry if this is in the wrong section its my first discussion.

Looking at that, I'd say it probably has to do with the sheer number of uploads that aren't created by them. Artwork isn't for favorite pictures you found on Google Image search or various image boards on the net.
I can understand that part, but for example a picture from huniepop. Most likely banned for sexual content but if its a game allowed on steam, why are you not allowed to take a screenshot of the game and post it?

Because you have the choice whether to buy the game and see it or not. Posting screenshots from it to your profile and thus the larger community page, rather than the restricted hubs, removes that choice.

So you can buy a game but not take screenshots? Then why is it even implemented on steam?
I can't see what screenshots were banned. Did your friend delete them already?

When a screenshot/artwork gets banned, it automaticaly restricts uploads for 1 day per a ban.

She went to bed so can't ask her anymore, I think she did if you can't find them. I thought steam would automatically delete them if they get banned.

They get removed from public view and only the user who uploaded it and a few others can see it.

It isn't fully gone unless the user deletes it. It is best not to delete them if one is questioning why they were banned since we can't look at the images to see.
I can ask her that tomorrow if she did, if the case is that I hope she didn't remove them. If she did is there anything that can be done? Because it has happened a lot.
This is one of the artworks that got banned from her. https://twitter.com/twitter/statuses/916436527194038272 Not sure if she removed it on steam but this is the artwork

Depends on where it was uploaded to.

With out being able to confirm as it was removed from the profile, I can't really say. I've has people post images saying they were the ones deleted before (usualy avatars) and it turned out it was not that one that got the ban, so we are cautious when it comes to that.
I can completely understand what you mean here. Looks like she did remove them then if you can't seem to find the images. She is just scared atm since she got told if she gets more bans that her whole account will be banned.

From my understanding, that won't happen.
I will let her know that, and if there comes a new ban I will tell her to not delete it. Thank you
She has uploaded plenty of pictures from those Japanese sex novels game and even of scenes where the little girls are naked. So I doubt this is just some randoms false bans your friend got but actually legit bans.

Basically don't upload pictures of little girls that are almost completely naked. Shouldn't be too hard to do right?
I honestly think Steam should crack down on people pulling images from Google and using them as 'artworks'. Artwork should be your creations, not things you steal from Google, especially when you don't leave a link to the proper creator.

Sadly, people won't grasp that. People are odd.
Steam users are attacking others profiles, they use exploit websites and other ways to get around the private profiles and attack people private screenshots, i had four witcher 2 screenshots banned this week as they had nudity in them (they were set to private only i could view them) and still someone got them banned..

If she hasn't already make her profile private and delete all "friends" you do NOT know or really really trust and do not add more.. Its becoming serious these outside websites are compromising steam users security and privacy..

obviously not set to private. profile and content visibility are not bound together.
