Minecraft Meets Steam!
Did anyone know that you can launch Minecraft though steam? This also allows access to the Steam Community through Minecraft!

You can do this with any game/application installed on your PC.
Even Microsoft Word can be launced through Steam.

Just click on "ADD A GAME" in the bottom-left orner of the Steam window, click "Add a non-Steam game...", and finally click the game you wish to add.

Yes, adding it as a non-Steam product does allow you to access the overlay and play it through steam, but officially? No, Mojang does have to ask Valve if they can put their game on steam, or go through the community greenlight. Plus there is no official, as far as I know, community for Minecraft, only an unofficial group. So by technicality You are just launching minecraft, so calm down Minecraft has not met Steam yet, your just launching the game using a 3rd party program (steam).

that doesn't make it a steam game.
You know what games I can launch through steam?

Uninstall applications, Adobe Reader, WordPad, Product Registration, HP Setup Guide, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Special Offer from AT&T, Roxio, TabTip, "Change IP Address", Video Test, Infrarecorder, Openoffice, "Runtime", and all sorts of other things in a list longer than the world's countries.

Note you said "This also allows access to the Steam Community through Minecraft!" assuming you are talking based around minecraft, you state that there is an official community for it. Also, 90% of people on Steam already know how to launch applications using steam, so please don't state the obvious just to waste others' time, thanks
